1  Headbands! in Crochet: Completed Projects by elizabethmae on: January 18, 2012 04:16:25 PM
I had been seeing a lot of these and figured I'd just wing it. I didn't follow any patterns but I had a lot of fun making them and am stoked to have another quick gift idea up my sleeve. Thanks for looking!

I have a blog!

3  Re: Fill a mug round 5 gallery in The Swap Gallery by elizabethmae on: January 18, 2010 10:37:56 AM
Yay!!! I received from Strawberry!!!

First let me apologize for the camera phone pictures but our digital camera has disappeared. Sad

This is the first impression pic

And all the goodies inside!

We have red tea, a tea wallet, stitch markers, a charm bracelet, and a reversable mug cozy!

The mug is great, as I'm always on the go, and I can clip it to my bag or my keys Smiley

and a chocolate bar

The project bag is also reversible which is cool too.

Thank you so much! It's lovely Smiley

4  An overstuffed turkey! in Amigurumi: Completed Projects by elizabethmae on: December 14, 2009 01:06:56 PM
It's a little late I know, but I made this for a "Thanksgiving Rnd 2" dinner party I attended a couple weekends ago. I think he made for a pretty great host gift (along with a couple bottles of wine)

I did stuff him a little too much though and so some of that shows. Oh well, no one is perfect and everyone loves stuffing am I right. (horrible joke)

Anyways here he is. I didn't use a pattern I just looked at some other critters for inspiration and went for it.

Along the way I did accidentally teach myself how to make a sort of neat half circle (tail) and I was pretty proud to figure that out Smiley

Gobble gobble!

I totally fell in love with him while I was crocheting, it was really hard to give him away. Smiley

5  Six legged baby octopus loves you! in Amigurumi: Completed Projects by elizabethmae on: December 04, 2009 09:59:02 PM
Oops he turned out to only have 6 legs.

Oh well his lil handicap only makes him more charming.

I made this little guy for a swap and since she's received already I figured I'd share him with ya'll too.

He loves you.

6  Hats for my nephews! I couldn't wait for XMAS in Crochet: Completed Projects by elizabethmae on: December 04, 2009 09:54:07 PM
I couldn't wait to give my two favorite nephews their Christmas presents this year! I'm pretty proud of how they turned out and even happier that the boys loved them so much Smiley
Here they are proudly modeling them for me...
They were so excited that they were going to be on the internet.

Awesten and Ethan, 12 and 13
Pretty much the loves of my life Smiley

It's always such a relief to find out that you're still cool.
I'm just shy of my 25th birthday and being the unmarried aunt who gives home made gifts and has a cat is risky around the holidays. These guys made me feel like the coolest auntie ever!

7  Re: 10 Minute Craft Swap Gallery in The Swap Gallery by elizabethmae on: December 03, 2009 08:12:45 PM
As I posted earlier I have received from Ffrogg526 and boy did she spoil me Smiley

First I opened the box to a lovely card. Ffrogg526 has very nice handwriting.
Inside was:
A crochet hook rollup (in my fav color)
A polymer light switch cover, that I hopefully don't break during installation Wink
and
An aromatherapy eye pillow! Aww, how did she know I was in need of a little r and r?

Here is a group shot:

and an action shot of the hook holder:

I gotta say that I needed it, what you see here are the hooks I could find on short notice, my bf finds these all around the house, even in our bed lol

I love everything sooooooo much! Thank you Ffrogg526 for making this such a great swap for me, I hope you liked your package too!

Oh yeah...

Mister Switters thanks you for the box and bubble wrap too!

8  Re: Autumn's Fall Scarf Swap GALLERY in The Swap Gallery by elizabethmae on: November 08, 2009 02:05:21 PM
After a tiny bit of difficulty on the part of the post office my awesome package from Oyhana arrived and I was totally impressed/surprised/excited. This is my first swap and I tell you what I had major anxiety about my package! Oyhana is PRO, she is so awesome! I just hope that my package wasn't wimpy by comparison.

Here's what I got:

Kitchen cuteness! Scrubbie and potholders!

ATCs! My first ones ever! I know nothing about ATCs other than Oyhana makes real pretty ones!

Scarflette cowl thingies!! I love the grey one best but they are both nice and warm and pretty!!

And of course the scarf which is super snuggly and soft. The colors are great and I love fringe!

I feel soooo spoiled and so lucky to have had such a great partner!!

9  3 new hats...trying to make my own patterns here... in Crochet: Completed Projects by elizabethmae on: November 05, 2009 10:34:19 AM
I've been very busy lately but I've still managed to sneak in some crocheting time and these are a few recent finished products.

First is the most recent one. I just made this in a couple hours last night. I used a pretty large hook and was experimenting with crocheting around the post which I've never done before...

I think it's pretty cute. Definitely fast to work up and comfy as heck.

Next is this purple monster. I had this bulky yarn that I must've bought for some reason and I really wanted to try a super slouchy hat. I think this one is just a lot of hdc... it's a little bit too bulky for me as it turns out. but I mean hey, you can never have enough hats.

And then a solid black one. I just needed a hat to go with everything and I'm still working the kinks out of this slouchy beret situation. I say that because when I've tried patterns resembling these hats they end up too something (small, loose, ugly lol) so I'm pretty pleased and since I've been wearing my black jacket most this season it's worked out well.

Thanks for looking and C and C are ALWAYS welcome.
Also I'd be interested in anyone who wanted to do a personal hat swap some time Smiley

10  Owl - first post in Needlework in Needlework: Completed Projects by elizabethmae on: October 07, 2009 06:27:52 PM
When I was a kid my mom used to do a lot of needle work and I would try to copy her and make pretty things. Since childhood I've done a little embroidery here and there, mostly on other projects. This is the first thing I've made in a long time that is purely decorative and I'm pretty proud of how it turned out.

The flash on my camera sort of dulled the colors but in life he's very bright and I just love him.

Also he's 100% thrifted. The fabric is a pair of pants from value village and the thread was given to me by a friend of my moms. The hoop is basic, but second hand also, a steal at fifty cents!

I can't wait to relearn more stitches. I have a feeling this will be a theme in my christmas gifts this year!

Comments appreciated Smiley
