1  Re: February Birthday Swap Gallery and Discussion in The Swap Gallery by SAHMama on: March 08, 2012 01:47:52 PM
Sorry I've been MIA. We've had a little of everything here... medical issues, funerals, family obligations, on top of the normal stuff raising 2 little ones with my husband starting a new business that he's running out of our not-big-enough-to-be-an-office-and-a-home house). Sorry!

I'm uber late with my claim for klg_jlg, in part because of all the craziness and in part because I have no idea how long things take. Why is it that I come up with an idea and think that I can whip it up in no time & then it takes FOREVER?? I think I have a lot more confidence in my crafting abilities than I should! But it's nearly done & then I just have to add some stuff to make it a super-de-duper awesome package because I feel terrible about how late it is  Embarrassed

OMG Koreena! I can't believe you stuck yourself with a knitting needle! I'm so sorry! I feel kinda responsible because you were working on something for me! I hope it's healing okay.

I received from IdlersDesign the other day. I've been having trouble with my camera and computer cooperating, but I finally got the pictures. She sent me some super-awesome pants for my boys. My older one loves red and the younger one loved yellow and look how adorable these are! I just love them and even my husband couldn't stop talking about how cute they are. The boys are thrilled and they fit great!

And she sent me a wetbag with this awesome fabric! I love citrus fruits Smiley

Thanks so much IdlersDesign!

I received my package from sarad!
She sent me cloth "paper" towels (in citrus colors!!), plus extra fabric, which is awesome 'cause I love the fabric she picked. Also, reusable snack bags!

She also sent me a new bento box (!!) and some bento accessories!

Thanks so much sarad! I love everything and have used it all already! Smiley

I received from ghanne! What an awesome package:

The beautiful card she sent, lots of storage containers (I asked for them for craft supplies & general organizing), and... hmmm... I'm embarrassed to admit I'm not sure. Satchets, I think? They smell awesome!

Gorgeous postcards and tags, plus a calendar:

Big bad wolf & 3 little pigs puppets for my kids:

And (this is AWESOME), a puppet set based on The Hungry Little Caterpillar, one of our favorite books.

My husband reading the book to the kids with the puppet. It's so cool... he eats through all of the food, then goes in his cocoon (the orange thing on DH's arm)...

And emerges a beautiful butterfly:

It's so clever the way ghanne did this. You tuck the wings in the cocoon and then he comes out wearing them. As you can see from the picture the kids LOVED it.

Thanks so much ghanne!! Awesome package!!

Hi all! Awesome stuff in this gallery, but I had two recent swaps that beat all Smiley
I swapped for Christmas gifts with phoenixfiredesigns & JessySihk.

phoenixfiredesigns made these fabulous Tree of Life pendants. I asked for one for my SIL, but she sent two! They're absolutely beautiful & these pictures don't do them justice. My SIL loved them & couldn't stop talking about how well made they were & how talented phoenixfiredesigns must be (she'd know - she works for a jeweler). Thanks so much phoenixfiredesigns!

I also swapped with JessySihk. I saw her Etsy shop & loved her stuff & thought she'd do a great job of creating my vision - a desktop palm tree hammock scene. This was a gift for my husband to keep on his desk at work to remind him of our favorite spot on Earth - in a hammock on the beach in Jamaica (on our honeymoon). It came out so much better than I imagined & my husband LOVED it Smiley Thank you JessySihk!!!

(I sent a bag to phoenixfiredesigns & ruffly booty shorts to JessySihk, but they both probably have better pictures of those than I do!)

I thought I posted this before, but just checked & I didn't! I've been scatterbrained lately because I've been planning my sons' birthday party (one turned 1 & the other turned 3).

Anyway... witchybelle4u2 sent me this awesome stuffed animal hammock! We love it! (And she actually made & sent 2 of them because the first one disappeared into the international mail void!)

Thanks so much witchybelle4u2!

Zilamonster claimed me for a crochet project bag & boy did she deliver! I'm just learning crochet & this will definitely motivate me to stick with it!!

First, some extra goodies! Totally unnecessary, but definitely appreciated! My husband is eyeing this orange yarn 'cause he's a beginning knitter, but I think I'm gonna have to keep it for myself!

Here's the bag. I LOVE orange & this fabric is spectacular! I love the orange & light blue combo Smiley So pretty!

And here's the inside - pockets for hooks & other stuff!

Thanks so much zilamonster!

I received a great package from the very generous kittymom13! I'm a sewer, but I've decided to start learning crochet & knitting, so this is what she sent:

Sewing stuff:

Knitting stuff:

Yarn - this is now my starter stash! Smiley It's awesome so now I just need to learn to knit & crochet & figure out what the different types of yarn are for! Smiley

Thanks so much kittymom13! I'm working on your thank you gift now Smiley

9  Re: 10 Minute Swap round 2 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by SAHMama on: October 10, 2010 04:57:07 PM
Okay, I have to start this out with a couple apologies... first to my truly awesome partner, onegroovyday for being out of town when this incredible package arrived, & for taking so long to post the awesomeness (I got it Friday), and then an apology to everyone else because this is going to be a total picture overload (although I doubt you'll mind) and once I post this EVERYONE is going to be wisting these items & I wouldn't be surprised if we crash wists.com!
Onegroovyday & I agreed to craft more than the "10 minute" item... how could I resist when the awesome onegroovyday offered to swap more with me?? She did an awesome job of stalking me... I got stuff from my wist & stuff from my OWS list & stuff she knew I'd like! Smiley
Okay... I can't put into words how much I LOVE this swap package so I'm just gonna move on to pictures so you all can appreciate the awesomeness:

Here is some fleece scraps used for packing, some felt (ALWAYS useful!) & Ikea fabric (awesome!!):

Some Swiffer covers in adorable fleece:

Really cute barrettes 'cause I'm trying to grow out bangs:

I know.. that's plenty, but we're still getting to the really awesome stuff. Here's some ankles bells for my sons similar to some on my wist, but way cuter! There are actually two pairs of them, but one of my sons was wearing one when I took this picture:

Here's an adorable Dr. Seuss sign - I LOVE it! My son's nursery is "Oh, The Places You'll Go" themed & I love all things Seuss. This is PERFECT! You can't tell how big it is in the picture, but this is a huge 22" x 9" former cabinet door. Onegroovyday claims this is a one hour craft & I'd doubt her, but she's obviously a crafting genius so I guess it's true!

I'm planning a monster themed birthday party for my two sons in a couple weeks & mentioned on OWS that I'd love monster tails or hats because I'd like to give them to each kid to wear at the party & take home as favors. Onegroovyday helped me out by sending FIVE hats & FIVE tails!! I thought I took a picture of all the tails together, but I can't find it, but I do have action shots. Here are the hats:

The hats are different sizes & some of them even fit my son Cooper's enormous head!

My sons could get enough of these hats & tails. They wore them for hours! I can't wait for the party!

Dexter's also wearing ankle bells in this picture:

AND (yes, still more!), a GIGANTIC (seriously this is the biggest I've ever seen & I could literally use it for laundry if I wanted to) fabric coil bowl in orange, my favorite color, with lots of batik fabric, which I also love. It's incredible & it has a beautiful swirl in the front & handles!! I put my son in it so you could truly appreciate the size!

Onegroovyday, I can't tell you how much I love everything!! Best swap package EVER! Thanks so much!!

I love the tree bag & the rock/scissors/paper/lizard/spock apron! Smiley

ChrisSews claimed me for an educational toy & I got it a couple days ago (sorry to be posting so late!). How cute is this?!

The back is equally cute.

And she included this card so my sons can practice their numbers & colors. What a great idea!

This is perfect too because they're having a joint birthday party (turning 1 & turning 3) & we're doing a monsters theme! Smiley It's been tough keeping it from them, but I stashed it away to give as a birthday gift.

Thanks so much ChrisSews! I'm sure this will be a favorite toy for a long time Smiley
