I got my package from TerraBella01!!!  HOORAH!

I feel spoiled!  Grin  I know there are a lot of pictures!  So I used the little ones (hopefully to take up less room!).

She also had everything wrapped up with ribbon so I have this great pile of ribbon to reuse at some point in my crafting!

Open the box to find......

2. Something edible - CHOCOLATE!  Always a winner!

12. Something local to your city/state/country - pictures!  These are pictures from her town and Indianapolis, IN.

13. Something you always keep in your purse - chapstick.

14. Something relating to your favorite hair accessory - hair ties!  I've killed several of these with my hair!  I always need new ones!

17. Something related to one of your favorite craft supplies - Inchie and ATC blanks/paper/supplies!  yay!

19. Something you collect that's non-craft related - freebies from conferences (I do the same thing at music conferences!)  Then she filled some of the tubes with goodies for making inchies and ATCs!  Hoorah!

192  Re: Fairy Garden Swap Gallery in The Swap Gallery by Ffrogg526 on: June 03, 2009 04:57:55 PM
I get home and open the box to discover this!  Huzzah!

The whole kitten kaboodle!

I think this bench is just adorable.  If I were a fairy I would definitely sit here!

Fairy House to hide from the rain in.

The candles in action and below than, not in action.  The jars are painted purple even though they look more pink.

Flower bulbs!  I believe that they are iris or day lilies but I'm not sure - we'll see what they are when they grow and bloom!

A fantastic fairy door that opens into another world!  I want to shrink down and be able to walk through it!

I like this picture because it looks like the fairy door has become the back door of my house.  I didn't plan for it to look like this but I thought it was cool after I took the picture!   Cheesy

Flower seeds to be planted in my garden!  yay!   Grin

The mermaid had a rough trip to Charlotte, NC.  She came out of it with a broken arm and a broken pond.  I think the clay work is fantastic and I'm plainning on super gluing everything back together.  It may not be able to hold water but it could hold birdseed!  Cheesy

All the pieces to the mermaid 's perch that I need to figure out how they go back together.  Some help maybe??   Grin

Thank you soooooo much!  I totally got spoiled!!  I'm hoping that Sunday I'll be able to get out in the yard and start creating a fairy garden space.  I wish I could saturday but I've committed myself to the insanity of taking my chorus students to the local amusement park for music festival for the day!   Shocked  whoo hoo!  Wish me luck!!!    Roll Eyes

Finally!!  Pictures!!

The whole kitten-caboodle!

A celtic windchime.  Probably one of my most favorite things in the box!

Some very awesome and friendly bookmarks.

Another favorite thing.  I haven't used this yet but I'm looking forward to it!  Its a hand/foot spa kit that smells like peppermint.

Handmade Soap.  This stuff smells yummy!

So - all in all I got quite a bit of stuff.  In the first picture you can see two skeins of Vanna White's dark green yarn, a few more candles, two pairs of socks, a bag of fireballs, several crocheted granny squares, a crocheted frog, thank you notes, safty pins, bath fizzies, bath salts and a hawiian lei.

My computer is still acting weird so this is all I'll be putting on the computer tonight.  So there ya o, this is my happy box!  Thanks so much!!!

195  Re: Book Lovers Swap Gallery! in The Swap Gallery by Ffrogg526 on: April 28, 2009 05:37:16 PM
I'M FINALLY POSTING!!!  I apologize for taking so long!  Look at all my goodies!!

I'm starting with what I sent her (only one of the things I sent her) and that's the Flying Spaghetti Monster!  He wasn't actually that hard to make.  I didn't use a pattern and I thought that crocheting his eyes would be a bit obnoxious so I just glued on some googley eyes.  Hoorah for Googley eyes!

I am IN LOVE with the box!  How odd is that?  She actually covered the box in pages from.....  you'll find out further down.

And we open the box to find this!

This is the spread - everything she sent me!  Its awesome!

I thought my beaded bookmark in its own envelope was worthy of being posted here by itself because 1) its awesome and 2) it was wrapped in a page from the book "Wreck this Journal".  I love that book!  Don't own it yet, but I've seen it.

Litichi candies!!  For those of you who don't know a litichi is a fruit from Vietnam.  They're really sweet but uber good!  These are hard candies which is pretty cool I think because I sent her gummy litichi candies!

Little pictures of the stitch markers because there are two pictures.  My camera don't seem to like close up detail shots.  urg!

Possibly the coolest thing every!  My very own, personal bookworm!  He's super cool and he even comes with glasses.  He could be my twin!

I apparently did not load pictures of the hollowed out book she made me.  My apologies!  That's what some of my goodies came packed in.  And the pages that she cut out of Stephen King's Dark Tower book 7 are what's adorning my box!!  How awesome is that?!

So here's the run down

Odd Thomas by Dean Koontz
Invisible Monsters by Chuck Palahniuk
green beaded bookmark
hollowed out book for hiding things amidst the books!
litichi candies
felted bookworm complete with glasses
Stitch markers!
Post-its (who doesn't need more of those?)

Her very cool letter explaining the package was actually a transparency taped over a picture.  I thought that was totally awesome!

Thanks a ton Rachel (raeraethejetplane)!!!  Grin

196  Re: 2009 Fat Quarter Swap Gallery in The Swap Gallery by Ffrogg526 on: March 02, 2009 07:32:58 PM
I just finished my first swap!!!  It doesn't seem that huge because it was Fat Quarters but it was great to finish one!  chrsdx and I had a wonderful time.  Below are some of the great fabrics she sent me!

This is a better shot of all the fabrics she sent me.

This fabric is my absolute and total favorite!

I know the music fabrics are a little blurry, sorry about that but they're awesome.  I believe that they are going to become the beginning of a stash with the intention to turn them into a music quilt (that will be a new craft for me).

Finally, this was very unexpected but loved all the same.  It reminds me of Jimmy Buffet!  "I blew out my flip-flop, stepped on a poptop, cut my heel had to cruise on back home, but there's booze in the blender, and soon it will render, that frozen concoction that helps me hang on, wastin away again in Margaritaville."  Sorry - late night Buffett singing.  Grin Shocked

Thanks again!!!  It was soooo awesome! And I love the fabric I got!  Hopefully I'll get to use it pretty soon!

197  Elegant shawl. in Crochet: Completed Projects by Ffrogg526 on: February 13, 2009 01:07:02 PM
Okay, I made myself a shawl last summer and during the fall/winter I wore it to work.  One of our teacher assistants said that she'd pay me to make one for her mother for Christmas.  So I did, I made her one very similar to the one I made for myself.  After that her mother came and asked me how much it would cost to make her another one.  And this is the product of that.  She wanted gold and ivory.

In this picture you can see the pattern really well.  Not that there really is a pattern because I picked a few different stitches and just put them together in any random order.

Up close and personal with the huge shell stitch I used.

I asked my mom to model the shawl for me before I delievered the product.  This is wrapped around the front.

And the back.  I'm really please with the way this turned out.  And the woman that bought it loved it.

Let me know what you think!  Thanks for the comments.

198  Tri-colored Yoga Bag in CHALLENGE 35 ENTRIES by Ffrogg526 on: February 01, 2009 05:19:04 PM
I've started taking Pilates classes as part of my New Year's resolution.  When I started this class I was using a yoga mat provided by the gym but I decided that I needed my own personal mat.  I didn't want to leave in my car all the time to get dirty and sun-damaged so I had to make it a bag.  This way, I've made something that will inspire me to go to the gym.  I put my time into this bag and I don't want it to be a waste of time so I have to go.  I hope that makes sense.  Here are some of the pictures.

This is the bag in action.  I just had to dig through all my fabric and pick a few colors that I liked together to make it.  The strap goes over my head so I wear it kind of like a messenger bag.

This is a closer picture of the closure at the top of the bag.  This idea was totally mine, I didn't get it from anyone else.  Although, now that I've made it I've seen bags similar to it.  But I came up with the idea and made it one Sunday after I bought my mat.

This is what happens when you sit on the floor with a dog in the house.  Of course you're down there to pay attention to the puppy.  There couldn't be any other reason.  But its about the same length as the dog.  I just had to include this picture.

199  My first amigurumi - Frogger in Amigurumi: Completed Projects by Ffrogg526 on: January 18, 2009 12:12:58 PM
This is my first attempt at crocheting something other than an afghan, a scarf or a shawl.  I've never made an animal before.  I found the pattern for this cute little froggie on someone's blog and decided that I just had to make it.  I don't think it looks as good as the original but I was pleased with it.  The website is http://littlegreen.typepad.com/romansock/  This person also posts here on craftster.  You should see her shark.  Its awesome!  I digress.

This first picture is a little bright so you can't tell the colors really well.  But he's bright green with a white belly.

My second picture is just a different angle and a little darker.  He has pipe cleaners in his legs so they're bendable.  My students think he's just adorable.

This last picture is up close and personal with my frogger.  His feet seem bigger than they should be but that's part of his cuteness I think.

Thanks for taking a look!  Comments welcome!!

200  Christmas Present for my Fiancee in Crochet: Completed Projects by Ffrogg526 on: January 03, 2009 05:41:35 PM
Earlier this year I decided to make my fiancee an afghan for Christmas.  When I made this decision we started tossing around color ideas.  He usually likes dark (what I call boring) colors.  So I figured black would be a a big part of the afghan and that was the first color he suggested.  From there we thought that burgundy and gray would be good.  What I came up with is actually really pretty I think.  I went digging around in my stash and found this beautiful burgundy varigated yarn that I pulled the bluish-gray from.

What's also great is that I finished the afghan shortly before Christmas and I gave it to him when I went to visit his family on Christmas Eve.  Not only did he love the afghan, it made his mother jealous.  Wink So now I'm trying to pick colors that match her living room so she can have one next year.

These last two pictures are just that.  Different pictures of the same afghan.  If there's cat hair on it please excuse that.  My fiancee's cat sheds like crazy and of course, she's white.  Roll Eyes

This is the pattern I repeated as I worked on it.

Let me know what you think!!  Cheesy
