So sorry for the loss of your friend Allie.

In more cheerful news, I received a tiny package of awesome today. Even though it is one of the tiniest packages I have ever received it is certainly not a small effort. DearBluebird claimed me for inchies - I think somehow she must have noticed my favorite colors.

I must show the inchie themed card - so very precise as well as pretty.

All the inchies! I think 69 of them? wowzers!

Thank you DearBluebird!

Here's my package from Annchen who claimed me for a pocket dragon.

Here's a close up of the very cute dragon - I guess somehow she figured out my favorite colors even though I try so hard to keep it a secret.

She also sent a very well painted plaster wolf head

Chapstick cozies

and 2 um very interesting rolls of licorice candy. Curiously strong isn't the word for these, way way way stronger than any licorice I have ever tasted before. At least the kids wont steal them from me since they thought I was poisoning them when I let them try the candy.

Thank you Annchen!

JS spoiled my Tori and her 'baby' Riley. Please check out Riley in her beautiful new dress in her favorite colors and see all the lovely new clothes she has. There is a soft comfy pair of pajamas and 2 skirts as well as the dress with purse and sash. We especially love the winter skirt with the pompoms!

Thank you JS!

Rscowtown sent me not one, but two lovely embroidery books. The Japanese embroidery book is going to take some study and the other book is going to be put right to use for some crazy quilting.

Thank you Laurel!

Lo{ve} sent me an extremely generous package of quilting supplies! The colors are a gorgeous mix of blues and greens. (my Tori has declared I must make her a quilt with these colors) I can't wait to dive in and start using it all! The diamond template is going to get a lot of use since I love lone star quilts but never had the right template. Then again, 3 diamonds make a perfect hexagon and I also love hexagons.

anyway, here it all is, 2 jelly rolls in blues and greens, matching fat quarters, a diamond template, dresden plate template (I'm still a noob, this is slightly intimidating to me, but now that I have the template, maybe i will get brave?) and paper pieces.

Thank you Lo{ve}!

I am not crafting a ton at the moment but I am finally getting things framed and on the wall... which is sort of crafting. Both these pieces came from this swap Smiley The bird art was from Jemimah and the frog zentangle was from SheepBlue.

Well since you asked... a few rounds back, okay quite a few rounds back, I got a bali pops pack of 2.5" fabric strips from texscrapper - I started playing with them making some 9-patch squares. I loved the colors so much I went out and bought a second set so I could make a queen size quilt. I hope to finally finish the squares today. It has gotten too big to fit on my enormous table but this is where it was about a week ago. Imagine white sashing between the rows. I'm thinking of pulling out the 4 squares that are so very very pink/red. I think they don't quite fit in.

Here's an action shot of the beautiful t-shirt gavagai sent me, being modeled by my Tori (yes, same child who desperately wanted a necklace saying "if you can read this I will lick you"). The detail on the shirt is unbelievably clear and detailed.

and a close up of the lovely design (which is the logo for an amazing seeming ice cream company)

Thank you gavagai!

I have a good excuse for being late on posting pics this time... really i do... okay not really. I wanted to figure out how to frame what I received first. Then I realized I should have taken pictures before framing it. Anyway, I have wanted something like this forever and SheepBlue did it more beautifully than I could have imagined. Not only that, she did it in such a perfect size that I was able to go into a store and buy a frame with a matte board just exactly the right size. I am still dumbfounded by that.

Here is the amazing embroidery

Here it is showing the frame and the frame's original purpose. I may end up getting a different frame - I really bought it just for the matte board.

As if the embroidery might not have been enough?Huh She also sent this wrist cuff in a truly lovely yarn. I have no idea what type of yarn it is, but I would seriously love anything made with it. It is so soft and has a lovely sheen and you have to love the subtle shade gradation.

And yes, there was more... these beautiful crocheted river rocks.

Thank you SheepBlue! I am in awe of your skills as always!
