1  Re: IYP 29: summer swing along Gallery in The Swap Gallery by Averia on: October 20, 2016 06:31:01 PM
I am ridiculously late in posting pictures - so very sorry Anne. I received a beautiful package from Anna.wahnsinn!

The package is amazing - I have no idea how many rounds back, but at one point I mentioned wanting a sewing machine cover. OMG but my Anne delivered the most amazing sewing machine cover! Don't ask me which is front and which is back - no way I could ever pick! You can also reverse it so the inner lining is the outer lining. As much as I love the fabric choice for the inner lining, I could never hide Stitch and Scrump!

Gorgeous beach charm bracelet

This lovely doesn't show as well in the picture as in person. It is a beautifully stamped charm saying 'Wish' and an actual dandelion seed captured in a tiny little bottle

And finally a sweet gift for my Franki's baby due in April. So very cute!!!

Thank you Anne, You have wowed me as always!

2  Re: Ongoing Wish Swap Gallery and Discussion Round 130 (Sept. 2016) in The Swap Gallery by Averia on: October 15, 2016 04:23:45 PM
Prepare for awesomeness! I was fortunate enough to have been claimed twice by the talented Spikefan. It looks like I was claimed way more than twice!

First up, an item that went straight up on the wall in my laundry room.

Here is a beautiful sashiko twinchie. Love sashiko, tiny embroideries and blue. So very happy to have this.

Lovely headband with the nice touch of wooden buttons.

Bookmarks!!! way too nice to mess up in books though - think these are going to have to go up on my wall too.

This is too amazing for words! So absolutely perfect!!!

Thank you Spikefan!!!

I received from Scarlet_nights! A cute vintage looking Christmas tote bag. Bonus, it rolls up into a easily stowable bundle.

and a shot of it all rolled up

4  Blue and white inchies in Needlework: Completed Projects by Averia on: September 23, 2016 05:03:45 PM
I almost never make anything for myself, but this week i decided to make myself a birthday present. I really like blue. I really like blue and white together. I also love shibori... Much thanks to Alwaysinmyroom for enabling. I used some bits from her demo in this little project.
Hopefully this is the right place for this project.. Comments and critiques are most welcome.

Here is how I am thinking of framing them - still hoping to find a slightly smaller frame.

Laura's Little Lovelies

I am Laura, from Maryland. I live in a house with plenty of pets - dog, cat, rabbit and turtle. I try to keep my crafting materials away from them, but when it comes to cat hair I am fighting a losing battle so please beware if you have serious cat allergies.

Kusudama ball - Made from individually folded sheets of origami paper. These are a fair amount of effort, but I truly enjoy making them. Would happily do my best to find papers to make these custom if there is a particular color you desire. 1.5 points

zippered keychain coin purses/ear bud holders (pattern from http://www.dogundermydesk.com/) 1 point each.

wrapped bangles - 3 bracelets to a set, please request either dark red or purple. 1 point per set.

Top hat hair clips - I have one in blue and 1 in Pink. .5 points for one.

Kanzashi fabric flower hair clips - .5 points per pair. Please order as Pale Blue, Dark Purple or Pink

Elastic Journal pen holder. .5 points

Claims made from me

I think I need to give up on joining this swap. My photography skills are terrible. Not a single picture from tonight turned out well. It was a wonderful night though and Ipo was there to share it. My son joined marching band and tonight was the showcase for families. He is the 3rd sousaphone from the left... in other words, the tiny white dots on the field that are actually huge heavy tuba-like instruments.

A better picture of him, waiting for the potluck dinner to begin - can't you just see the thoughts in his head? "Mom, Ipo and I are just trying to chill here, please don't bring attention to us. You know we 9th graders have to be cool."

I finally took Ipo to see one of my favorite places in DC - Union Station. Not as crowded as I would have expected at 7 in the morning. Please try to ignore my complete lack of photography skills.
