141  Re: Spell My Name (Initials Edition) GALLERY in The Swap Gallery by quaggy on: August 05, 2013 06:46:39 PM
What a cute package!  I may just steal the firecracker idea!!!

My packaged arrived from kayrun and I was amazed at what I saw!

First up my initials are RLM

R is for really small pin cushion.

Super cute addition to my pincushion collection. Along with a scrap of fabric that it was made from.  Kayrun shared that this was a challenge trying to get the owl centered, I kinda like how it is peeping over the edge.  Something else Kayrun shared was the blog said you could add Velcro to keep it by your machine.  then a light bulb went off, when I craft in the car I usually have a lap board this would be perfect to attach it to while making felt badges or teesha moore squares.

L is for lacy washcloth!

Drooling over the color and pattern!  It is a perfect match to my kitchen color and so detailed.  I am amazed that this can be created from a skein of yarn. I love my new washcloth!

M is for owl mitts!!!!   Love, Love, Love

Right hand.....

Left hand........  yep a pair!!!!!   See the cool owl motif on top of my hand?Huh?

These are perfect for days when I am outside needing to write, in the past it has been impossible to keep my hands warm.  Being made from wool yarn, I no longer will have that problem!   The tweed color will go perfect with my black coat and the owl motif is a bonus.

Kayrun also sent along a cute round note pad with a magnet attached, perfect color for my kitchen fridge!

How can someone have a challenge with fabric and then go and create something like this from yarn?Huh   Still scratching my head over this one!!!   I am amazed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you Kayrun for another perfect round to my favorite swap!!!!

To funny, got off work last night and opened mailbox saw a package and thought it was wool felt I had ordered, hands were full with work laptop my purse, keys to open the door and a very large satchel!  I have worked this entire week from 5:30 am to about 9:30 at night so my butt was draggin!  Came in sat everything down and knew I needed to post photos in another swap so I did.  Got up this am and posted more photos remembered that I had not went back out to mailbox and thought oh my wool felt is here.  To my surprise it was even better it was my package of goodies from Breegy!  Just ripped into it, ran to the bathroom squealing to take an action shot, risqu as I am still in my jammies!

First up:

My initial's are:  R L M

R is for:  Red elf hat.........  This is what had  me off and running to take an action shot!   I love, love, love it and  the fit is perfect!

Breegy stalked me very well!!!!!!

So stinking cute I have wanted this forever,......Thank you!!!!!!!

L is for:   Little owls:

I love and collect owls: a keychain,(gotta try this I have a few kits and these look so fun to make.  I never thought to add them to a key ring. Crocheted little fellow that will become sewn to a patch for a journal cover I have in the plans to make myself, and a hooty necklace made from clay.  Just look at the wire wings and the metal looking snaps, so steampunk. This is my new favorite piece of crafted jewelry!!!!

Just look at Rufus!!!!!!    He can hold a can or cup!   I love him so much he is headed to work with a class jar to become a pen holder.   I have such a fun funky office thanks to all the wonderful craftsters out there!

Here are the pictures of what I sent to ladybugsandbummblebees! Some are not the best as these were snapped when I was headed out for vaction sick and trying to get the package in the mail!

She had some really cool stuff on her pinterest and requested that she would like a specific house rules sign so!!!!!

First up placemats for outdoor picnics to hold the plate and silverware! Found some cute extras to send along to make a picnic set!

On her pinterest was this awesome key wind chime made with painted keys and a tree limb.

Some assorted sewn tissue covers ready to use and give as gifts!

The house rules sign hand painted onto a piece of wood.

Extras:  fun napkins, metal hooks, note pad/pen and jam or cheese spreader/napkins, lunch bags, frog soap and an owl ornament.

and a 99 cent treasure from goodwill a wooden tree that holds cloth tree shaped coasters.

An owl wristlet coin purse.

And a collage about all the wonderful things that ladybugsandbumblebees is to me!  She is a true craftster friend. We pm each other weekly, sometimes daily.  Love that I was her Santa as I always have fun crafting for her!!!!!

Oh what great packages!   Just let me show you the spoilage that Thimbles71 sent my way!   I had a very Merry Christmas in July thanks to my fantastic partner!!!!!

First up some awesome note cards.  Just look at the cute crocheted owls.  Makes me not want to send them off or share, but I guess I may send a few!  Envelopes included!

Thimbles71 stalked me so well and made several things off my pinterest or wist.

Just look at the detail in the turtle pincushion!   I collect pin cushions!  I don't crochet and the talent it takes for those who do just blows me away. It even has feet!!!!!!

I also got a cute small one that is a keychain and a cute red owl stuffie!!!!!  Again if  I tried this it would not come out looking like anything!
Love, love love!

Group shot.

Next up are some awesome owl items!  I also collect owl stuff and was super surprised at all the awesome goodies!

A super cute mug rug that is the perfect size and in my favorite colors, aqua and red.  I love bright pops of color!

2 owl hot pads, perfect for my kitchen table and the colors rock!!!!!

A new needle book, something else that I collect and I love the large size of it!

And drum roll please a cover for my IPad in super cute owl fabric.  I just got this from work and so needed something to protect it and be able to slip it in my purse.

Thank you Thimbles71

145  Re: Make-a-Friend Round 10: The Gallery in The Swap Gallery by quaggy on: July 17, 2013 07:09:34 PM
My first package arrived today from nostephot!    I learned some wonderful things about the person that she is!  I even found we have quite a few things in common, and a few differences!

First up I did not get a picture before I started tearing into everything, but each item came in a cute pink polka dotted bag with brown labels describing what it held. A few of the bags did show up in random photos! I thought I would never finish opening and with each bag I learned a little more about nostephot! We both like to make a presentation with our gifts!

Nostephot sent an extra that she explained was because of her plans to redo an old trailer and travel around the country.  I too have been looking at old vintage trailers and have plans to do the same thing.  I want something small and easy to pull that I can take anywhere.  I have a trailer on the lake and this is perfect to put my trailer keys on!  Brilliant, I love the ribbon!
Also in this picture is a resin rice and red beans bracelet!  I love it and it is just my style!  Can't wait to wear it to work tomorrow! The candle is salted caramel and a scent that I too enjoy!  It smells good enough to eat, kinda like caramel popcorn!  In the left corner is a Harry Potter Keychain, my first ever Harry Potter themed item, I know I am a little slow!

A close up of the way cool bracelet nostephot made!  Fits my image!

For favorite food and drinks, I got gummie bears, Yum Yum, I also eat these often and chewing gum.  I too am a gum chewer!

Gardening:  Nostephot enjoys to garden and grows all kinds of herbs and fruits, I garden but not with edible things just flowers and plants!
The jar of bayleaves she grew, who knew they are so perfect in shape and color and yes smell like bay leaves! Nostephot also sent a container of Lemon Lavender Bath Salts.  The smell of the box was wonderful as there was a slight leakage.  The only thing that got wet was the pink bag so I think it my have happened when the postal lady left  the box sitting on it's side at my front door, most of the liquid is still contained in the bag.
There are note cards of nostephot's favorite movie,  and a New Orleans Saint Magnet, Me I am a Texans fan but football is a common!

Next up is an adorable mustache necklace and ring an obsession  with nostephot.  Are these made using shrink dink?HuhHuh  I love the silver chain and know I will get rave reviews from my co-workers!

Too funny, as I was opening my prezzies I was watching reruns of the big bang theory, my favorite show and came upon these super cute magnets of all the characters.  Happens that nostephot has the same favorite show!!!! So cool! Just look at the fabric she sused on the sewn pouch!

Although Halloween is her favorite Holiday, Mine too she especially loves Mardi Gras!  Just look at the light up ring, doubloons and glass beads!

Another similarity is our passion for old things, estate sells, and sewing!   Nostephot loves buttons and zipper probably as much as I do!!!!
She was generous to send me some of her treasures that she found!

These bits of fabric helped pad my goodies, and I am a fabric whore!

This cute little zippered pouch she made from linen a favorite fabric to wear and inside where two items that she got free couponing.  I love carmex and only wear eyeliner and mascara so both are bonuses for me.  I also am forever needing zippered pouches and this one is the perfect size and black is one of my favorite colors!    Win Win!!!! I too love to coupon!!!!!!

Sentimental:  This was such a special gift.  Nostephot celebrated a special birthday this month and her boyfriend threw her an amazing party!  Nostephot sent me a candle holder and her colors that she used to decorate with which is the blocks of yellow and gray prints sewn together My kitchen is pale yellow and aqua so this candle holder will find a special place on my kitchen windowsill over the sink!

Wow what an amazing package and so much information about my new friend!!!!

Made it back from vacation at the lake to find the perfect altered brush from jomama!  I have a love for dragonflies and often see hundreds while at the lake.  This one is the perfect colors, and arrived with perfect timing it will always remind me of my lake vacation.

Sorry for the delay with my photos:
Here is another shot of my rainforest frog from goatgoddess who was nice enough to post a photo for me while I was away.
I love the colors on this one too and the frog is made from polymer clay, so cool.

This swap could become habit forming, I need more altered brushes!!!!!

I was blown away by the  package that arrived from glasskicker today!!!!!! Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin

Not only has she already sent one amazing package but mine was just as well thought out with mega spoilage!

First up was the one thing that I knew was headed my way!   have drooled over this every since placing it on my pinterest and never imagined in my wildest crafty dreams that anyone would ever spend the time and money to send one my way!

Those of you who know me have heard about my trailer on the lake that is a weekend getaway.  There are a group of us that they call trailer trash and now I will be the envy of all.  Here is a close up to see how precise the cuts.  Yep these were made from old license plates.  Glasskicker had asked me how I wanted the wooden board painted that she used to attach them to.  I told her I trusted her judgment and she was spot on.  My favorite color turquoise with dry brushed black on the edges for an accent.  This is totally awesome!!!  Here's a few close ups to show the detail of her amazing work!

Now for all the super extra surprises!!!!  What a way to put a smile on my face and give  me a much needed lift!
Straight from my pinterest, a sign for my pool area.  It was pouring rain here this PM or I would have ran right outside and found it the perfect home!!!

Knowing glasskicker she cut the sheet metal and painted this herself!  I love the black frame another favorite color of mine!  Black always seems to make stuff pop!

I have been working mega hours and trying to keep up with all the posts.  There have been some fantastic projects posted here , but I have only been able to do mental "  oh gosh I love that or wow I wish I had one of those.  Well when Rox received her package from  glasskicker and I saw the R wax seal initial pendant and what glasskicker made using it, I was like oh wow that is too cool, I want one and since my name also starts with an R, I was having a pity party thinking that is so cool and would really look good on me. Yep you guessed it just look at my wax seal pendant and initial  R  PMC fired clay pendant.  This is fantastic and sterling silver is a favorite. I just love the vintage  look of both pieces!!!  I guess my pity party worked, maybe I have magical powers!!!  No not really just an awesome partner!

There was also a pamphlet that tells the history of the wax seal and how to use it!

Glasskicker shared that she has been working on making glass buttons but so far she has not  perfected it!  You have got to be kidding me.  I love these and am a big fan of buttons.  These will be used on something special for me!
Curious if you used those glass rocks to create these???  Once again I am loving the colors!

Glasskicker knowing how much I loved the trailer trash sign was so kind and sent along precut pieces already with perfect  holes and ready to be mounted letters for my name.

I am so thrilled by the kindness and generosity from my awesome partner glasskicker!  Not only did she make me smile but she surprised me with so many awesome things.  Her package should be headed out tomorrow.    Looks like when life slows down she will be getting a second package from me.

TM patches that are fantastic!!!!  I love both of them, so well done.  Love the Grinch red and turquoise is always a favorite and the butterfly with the lily pad  is adoreable.  I think I may have the perfect charm to add to it! I have plans to make a wall quilt just still in the process of collecting enough for this project!  Muddy also sent along a box of pins, always needed around her just can't keep up with them!   Thanks again for a wonderful swap and the extras!!!

My pin cushion arrived from muddy21!  I love frogs and Muddy made not one but 2 inserts to fit into this wonderful glass frog.  The glass is very heavy so no moving pins here!  I have a true love and collect frogs so this is perfect!  Muddy was also kind enough to send some extras and I will mosey on over and post them in the proper gallery.
(Something else I collect but won't say here)

Thank you muddy21 so much for my new pincushion that will be perfect sitting beside me and my chair.
