11  Re: Pocket Letters Round 2 in The Swap Gallery by quaggy on: July 27, 2016 01:45:39 PM
My pocket letter from geekgirl arrived this past Saturday, due to issues uploading pictures and work I am just now posting photos!   I was so excited to see that she chose m theme for board games!  I have a collection of 200 to 300 vintage board games prior to the UPC codes.  Not only did she create a beautiful masterpiece but geekgirl was also able to pull off my love of aqua and red.

I have plans to redecorate my den with vintage board games and although I love the pocket letter it will become a framed piece of art to hang on my wall!

Now for everyone's pleasure!!!!!!!!!!!

The backside

and all my goodies removed

Still struggling with my photos............

I hope you love yours as much as I love mine!

Here is my pocket letter from Smmarrt  She chose to go with my sewing theme and love of vintage!  She used vintage patterns and the tissue cutting pattern is the base.  I love the overlay of the cutouts from the pattern front.

I love how the dart, dress back, simplicity, buttonhole center pieces of pattern were used.  This was so well thought out!

Here are my goodies that came stashed in the pockets!

Paintchips with heart and bird clips, mason jar tags, dot stickers, and  hearts card with wasabi tape, 2 wooden letters, and a small journal.

Here are my favorites!

Thank you so much Smmarrt I love my pocket letter!

Thank you

I am so ashamed as life has been a little wild here.   I did get my pocket letter from Edel when I arrived back Monday but chose not to open it until I had hers in the mail.   Well I am still toting hers around in my purse.........  The weather has been awful flooding all around and rain rain rain.  The end of our school year was today so my days have been 14 hours long at work and not even a moment to leave to head to the post office.  Tomorrow is another full work day as we have to bus all 3 high schools into Houston for graduation on Saturday. If they do not cancel and move it to our college here in town  3 separate  bus trips so Saturday is gonna be a long 16 hours.  Anyway I gave up as I did not want to open my pocket letter from her until the one I made for her was sent but after today I caved.  Hers will go in the mail tomorrow if I have to sneak away.  A little behind on my other partners, but Monday in the mail for hers, since I still have a little to do on Sunday.

Anyway I so needed this!   Here is my pocket letter from Edel......she went with my dragonfly theme and I can only hope the shimmer of these little beauties shows up.   All hand made!

Edel decorated the back with a cute paper.....some of the stuffers came out of their pockets so I just kinda added them back in random places.

Thank you so much Edel...yours will hit the mail tomorrow and I will pm when it goes out!!!!!

I love my pocket letter and now need to find time to go get a binder................

14  Re: Everyday is Halloween Gallery SO May 20th in The Swap Gallery by quaggy on: May 20, 2016 11:57:57 AM
My package arrived from Grin MissingWillow!!!!! Grin

So thrilled with what she sent.

I had asked for a mug rug and boy did she deliver......not only a mug rug but one of her amazing pieces of pottery.  I coffee cup that looks like a witches cauldron!

This photo shows the back side of the mug rug with some cute and spooky extras.......confetti, erasers, beads

MissingWillow stalked my pinterst and found this cute cameo I had pinned and made me a new fashionable pin to wear!  Plus two cute glow in the dark Halloween critters!

MissingWillow also sent me some fabric scraps as an extra..........such cute prints!  I know I can find a good use for these.   I want to make a Halloween quilt.

I had asked for some felt tree ornaments and MissngWillow explained she was not to good with felt.....boy am I glad she wasn't because then these would not have been created.  Mixed media ornaments.  I love these so much and they will be so cute on my Halloween tree...I may just drag out my wire beads and wood blocks and make some more.  Theses are so cute and well made.  What a smart and creative idea!

Kittykill thank you so much for giving me such a wonderful and generous partner.

MissingWillow thank you so much for making me want it to be October when I am a summer girl!  I love everything that you sent to me and hope you enjoy yours when it arrives!!

My Flag arrived from calliemae!  It is made from 2 of my favorite colors and perfect.  Bliss.....I love the quote and it is an outdoor beach theme.  I can hardly wait until the weekend so I can get my flags hung outside.

The quote is perfect as no 2 days are ever the same!   I love it!

Really worried about the flag I sent to her since it has apparently not arrived.  I sent about a week sooner than she did.   Yikes!!!!  Reckon I will start a do over............

My flag arrived today from abbeeroad and it is perfect!  Really had not thought about what words I chose.....abbeeroad chose  "quaint"  she also stalked me well and knows I love the outdoors and camping.  This little piece of artwork came just after I talked to my insurance adjuster for our travel trailer that was totaled.  He had called to give me the claim amount and offer options.   We have chose to let it go which means a trip to the lake to empty the contents, unhook the sewage etc.  This flag is a memorial to my lost trailer!

Just look at the night sky and the trees!!!!!!!

My lost little trailer

Here is a close of up the metal stamped word!

My heart breaks but I love my flag as it represents an era past.

18  Re: Prayer Flag Swap Round 6 - Send-outs Monday, April 25 in ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED by quaggy on: April 20, 2016 05:15:36 PM
OMG will this week ever end.  Glad I blessed my little flags before I mailed them off....and prayers are being sent my way.....I need it.   Got off work this afternoon was headed home and a wrecker driver decided he wanted my lane..... Blowing my horn, cars behind us backing off , he keeps coming...all I see is the metal flat bed at my forehead level he is still coming so I chose the curb..... he then went back over into his lane , I attempted to get him to pull over, but no then he pulled into a corner store, me whipped around and pulled in too.  Got out of car approached him and said hey you almost killed me back there.  He said lady you chose to drive up on the curb I did not hit you it is your problem, went in store got in truck and drove off.  I call the wrecker service to hear oh well no wreck....This 5 ft 1 female was livid.  Called 911.  Police came and we went to business she talked to the driver who told her my lane was running out...what on a 4 lane road way with center turn lane.  He made the mistake of telling her he did not see me and when he did he pulled back over.  She shared if you would have collided it would have been your fault.   Talked to his boss and told him about customer service and so on.   His boss agreed to pay for me a new tire, replace the rim and sent the guy to load my car and take it to a tire shop....ya see these cars have no spare.  Anyway I am alive unhurt and just needed to rant...  This week has been H___! Feel free to delete if this should not have been posted I feel better already!

Out did my self hmm....look at this post and you may want to take that statement back,  My package arrived today from jkaywiz!

First up the awesome patches that she sent....so perfect...so me.

And even a shot of the cute backsides..... whoops photo below!

I love them all.....cute fabric and the word spring added such a pop of color....love the button fabric and the added buttons in certain areas and the sequin fish so sparkly and thread....all favorite things of mine and even a butterfly charm on the spring woodland patch!

Now when I sent out my supply kits it was a way to destash but I must say jkaywiz managed to send me more back than I sent to her...tee hee.....lots of fun goodies to play with in my kit.  I love the tiered container that she used.

Here is what was in the top bin.....ribbon, floss, flowers, vintage lace, ric-rac, eyelet, needles and another small container that has charms, patches and labels......

whew....move on to tier 2 and what did I find?HuhHuhHuhHuh

Another small case filled with beads, charms, buttons, vintage jewelry bits a large butterfly sequin and 8 containers full....

still more......on tier 3 was a load of fabrics.....some look like vintage fabric...drooling as I type, a cute water scene, some batting, 2 spools of thread copper and gold metallic and a small

jkaywiz was extremely generous, I love it all and can't wait to have some free time to play....so many interesting things.  It always amazes me that when I get fabric it is always stuff I have never seen and my stash is pretty big.  Gonna have fun making more patches and using the lovely's my partners send!
