2  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Applique Onsies! on: March 30, 2011 02:03:42 AM
I made these for my precious baby boy who is due to come in just 2 weeks!!

The first is an applique of his first initial. I used wonder under for the first time, and i loved it!
The second is reverse applique (my first time). I'm hoping its the perfect size for him to wear home from the hospital underneath a precious little sweater I've knitted for him.

I hope you enjoy looking!

3  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Diaper Pouch on: March 30, 2011 01:54:57 AM
item #3 in my crazy nesting cycle:

I made this diaper pouch to put all the diaper changing things all in one place when i'm on the go!
unfortunately i melted the velcro a bit when i was ironing it (oops!) so the stick factor isn't top notch. I'm planing to make a wipes case cover to match!

Here's a link to the wonderful tutorial i used: http://www.diaryofaquilter.com/2009/01/diaper-clutch-tutorial.html

4  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Zippered Wetbags on: March 30, 2011 01:50:04 AM
I made these for dirty diapers and things when on the go! i cant wait to use them Smiley Smiley
the outside is cotton and the lining is PUL. Unfortunately the colors in the pictures aren't true, but it works!

5  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Cute Little Wristlet on: March 30, 2011 01:38:15 AM
I made this zippered pouch in a vicious fit of nesting I've been on these last two weeks. I have no idea how this helps me prepare for baby, but somehow it makes me feel better!

i threw it together with scrap fabric from another project and when i wanted different fabric for the lining and the flower i frantically ran around the house and decided to sacrifice a couple pillowcases.

I almost forgot! here is a link to the tutorial i used: http://www.skiptomylou.org/2010/04/27/pleated-pouch-tutorial/
I added a strap and the flower as you will see. Smiley

so with no further ado:

unfortunately the colors shown here don't exactly reflect how it really looks, but it gives the basic idea!

6  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / My first attempt at Felt Embroidery! on: May 23, 2010 02:38:59 PM
This is my first attempt at felt embroidery.
Realized i did it the hard way by stitching all the way around the birdie instead of just attaching it with a few stitches and stitching around the wing. I guess thats the best way to learn though!

I was originally inspired by SheepBlue's version:

Here it is:

7  QUILTING / Quilting: Discussion and Questions / found unfinished quilt and realized fabric I need has been discontinued! BAH! on: May 14, 2010 02:48:15 PM
Help!

i need some advice. i have a nearly finished quilt-- literally all i have to do is sew one side of the border on (thanks again A.D.D. for stopping a project Wink). the unfortunate part is i don't have the fabric for that one last side and it turns out it's been discontinued. boooo.

I would like to find a way to solve this problem with as little seam ripping as possible. anyone have any advice?
i would REALLLLY appreciate it!

thanks in advance!

I cannot believe i havent ever tried a circle skirt before. it was so easy!

so i whipped up this little number in an hour or two just in time to wear it out the next day Smiley

i'm a happy camper. let me know what you think!

the back dips to a small V in the center (please excuse the sheer fabric.. stupid flash.)

and here's a close up of the fabric and a sneak peak at g-ma's necklace Smiley

10  CLOTHING / Costumes: Discussion and Questions / WONDERWOMAN SKIRT! on: October 29, 2009 12:34:18 AM
Im hurrying to make my wonderwoman costume for this weekend!

I have a satin costume fabric that i painted stars onto for the skirt...
my question: if i pleat the fabric would it turn out okay? or would i be better off gathering it around the waist?

i do lot of sewing but unfortunately not too much apparel, so any advice would be greatly appreciated!
