here are three little dresses i made out of upcycled materials. and i kind of like them...
I finally found time to put them up here.


this is the first one:

it's made out of a pink mens shirt and the sleeves of a navy gunne sax dress from the 70's.  all the buttons are reused from the shirt.

it's made out of an extra boxy very large womens shirt. and some cute little glass and gold buttons.

this one is out of a cute dress that had a large tear in the back. solution: make into a cute baby dress instead!

so for a sculpture class me and my good friend abby made a giant inflatable dino.



we started with a stuffed animal. who was very cute



then we seam ripped it all apart... and there were a million pieces.



and then we traced the pieces on graph paper, drew the grid to scale on plastic sheeting, and then drew the pieces on that.



and then we cut out the pieces and taped them together. we taped a fan into the end of the tail to inflate it.  it was a little top heavy, so we tied it to a tree outside where everyone could walk past and admire our slightly absurd piece of artwork.  it was so much fun!  now it's in a box in abby's closet. maybe one day it will be resurrected.

i made a bunch of these and i love them!
they are so fun and colorful and can go with pretty much everything.

what do you all think of them?

for my high school senior art project i made a bunch of chihuly inspired pieces out of glass stringers. at that point, i had been making lampworking beads for about 4 years, and i wanted to try to do something else with my torch.  and this is a small sample of what came from that experiment.

this is the first one, it's a mini chandelier tied together with little wire.  it's a little messy looking, but for my first try, i'd say it worked pretty well.




this is three small wall mounted pieces. it was real tricky to put together, but i love them!



this one is sideways for some reason. but it's made out of a million little clear stringers, all stuck together with 2 part epoxy, but that was taking FOREVER so about 1/3 of it is done with hot glue. i love this one!



i hope you like them. i made them about 2 years ago and they just live in my house so it's fun to be able to show people!
