Thank you Smiley
2  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / I couldn't throw this shirt away. I  butterflies. on: January 20, 2007 11:36:47 AM
So, my Mum showed me a bag of clothes that were going to vinnies. And I spied this in there,

And I thought, hey thats a bit cute. Butterflies and all. And I want to start reconstructing again. Let me have this as a practise one.

So yes indeed it is not overly 'special' but I like it Smiley I was going to add straps in the green and white fabric....not sure if I should yet.

3  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Thrift Store Pillowcase into Strapless Frill Top on: January 19, 2007 10:37:59 PM
I really like this one  Grin

It cost a grand total of 50 cents and this is what it looked like before I attacked it...

And afterwards...It now has cute ruffles around the bottom and I ruched the back with a few rows of elastic to tighten it around the top.

Yup, I have a dirty mirror...we have sold our house and are moving next weekend so at the moment I am like...meh....

4  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Pink Stretch Top with Lace on: January 13, 2007 05:55:39 PM
I just finished making this...it didn't turn out as I had pictured in my mind, I wanted a flowy top, not something this tight! I guess I will cut more material next time Wink Also sewing stretch material is a b*tch!! Put the bias binding around the neck line, added some lace as it looked plain and I sewed some elastic down the front of the top for some subtle gathering.

I am going to make a circle skirt with the leftover material...maybe I should do that now?? Hmmmm....

5  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Maxi Skirt Into Strapless Mini Bubble Dress on: January 13, 2007 12:48:26 PM
Ok well I got this dress from a big bag of clothes someone gave to my Mum....I decided it had potential as polka dots are big right now, mmmm?

So this is what I had....

And this is what it now is! Tadah!

With a waist belt...

Or worn as a loose sack shape, which seems to be all the rage here in Australia right now...

6  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Square Skirt - Question on: January 03, 2007 03:12:15 PM
Hi there,

I want to make a square skirt, but I am thinking about not cutting an arc for the waist, just a straight line across where you would normally put the arc.

Now, would this work? Why do you have to cut an arc in the first place?

Thanks!
7  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Old Granny Dress into Something....else on: December 29, 2006 07:49:51 PM
I tried to alter this dress to make it a bit more modern and cute, I started to make a bubble hem but before I cut the rest of the skirt off, the little hanging bit just looked....good (I thought).

So this is what I had...

And this is what it now looks like

I didn't alter the neck part, although I would have liked to...I just didn't have much imagination Tongue
8  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Sexy Satin Dress on: December 23, 2006 09:07:51 PM
Spent a few hours yesterday crafting this. In the end, I finally got it to resemble the picture in my head. It is basically a square skirt with a long attached piece to make the halterneck with and a band around the middle to stop any gapings around the boobs!

Merry Christmas!

9  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Checkered Pinnie on: December 22, 2006 11:04:30 AM
I spent a couple of hours fashioning this yesterday....through trial and error I managed to come up with something vaguely resembling a pinnie. Very annoying material to sew with, it loooves to fray. It has quite a foofy skirt, kind of like a tulip skirt. Very voluminous! Am quite happy with how it turned out.

Check it!
