Alright, after writing "jammies" I thought about Raj from one episode of Big Bang Theory where he says something about his "jammy" and Leonard is like "What??"

ANYWAY....

I had a fairly successful day of sewing today! Yay! (sometimes days of sew = days of frustration!)

I made cute pajamas! See, look:



They're actually made out of an old jersey bed sheet... so it's semi reconstructed!

Okay, so when I actually wear it, it kinda looks like a bubble gum bathing suit. Whoops.




The top is super cute, and maybe I'll wear it as an actual tank under a cardi or something...



I just love the cuteness factor of the bottoms... however they don't actually fit that well (so I kinda gave up on them. I didn't bother finishing the leg-holes...)



I love how cute the ruffles are. Even if I never wear them, I'll enjoy how cute they look in the drawer!

I had an ugly old 8x10 picture frame which I didn't know what to do with.  I'm generally of the opinion that an 8x10 picture is larger than most people want to be in reproduced form.

I turned it into a cute dry erase board!

So, now that I'm all done school I've had time to catch up on scrapbooking! I'm proud to say I have finished the stuff from the last 2+ years and finally have the pages in albums!!

Here's some of the stuff I finished.  Additionally, everything I used came out of my stash! I didn't buy anything new... although now I'm out of glue dots and tape runner stuff. lol

However it calls for making out of a light quilting cotton... I just received 3 boxes of shiny dressy material, so I thought I'd try it with that.

Originally I thought I'd have to put an invisible zipper in the side because I didn't think my material would have much stretch, but it did (luckily!) and I bought invisible zippers and an invisible zipper foot for nothing.  I'm sure I'll eventually find a use for them!

Here's the shirt I made:



I added the belt because otherwise it looked like I was preggers!

I did these a while ago as part of my 50 projects in 2010 but never posted them!



This one is my boyfriend and me, and my best friend and her husband from new years.  The letters are chip board that I cut out!



This one is from my summer job last year working at a kids science camp.  We were doing science shows for the children's festival



This is from one of the week long camps I did.  The camp tries hard to protect the identity of the kids (understandable) so that's why there's happy little faces on the kids. 



This was from my trip to see my sister, we went to the Cannery in Vancouver, it's actually out on the port, but I think they're moving it for security reasons

MONKEY STRAWS!!!!!!





Okay, now for the explaination of monkey straws. At the beginning of February my boyfriend and I went to his coworker's wedding. She is also one of those "we hang out with outside of work friends." Aka, we like her

On her wedding registry she wanted the silver monkey straw from Tiffany's http://www.tiffany.com/Shopping/item.aspx?sku=14560963&search_params=t+straw-s+0-p+1-l+-h+-c+-r+-x

A little ridiculous, I know, but she actually wanted it.

Not that surprisingly, she didn't get it.


It's her birthday this weekend so my boyfriend and I created these so that she can now go on with her life because she has not just one, but 4 monkey straws!!

We fully expect her to pull them out when we come to visit

We had a heck of a time finding a barrel of monkeys AND curly straws! FYI: found the monkeys at Toys R Us and the straws came from Walmart (I try not to buy things from there, but we scoured the city!)





Here's the "tutorial" if you can call it that:

Use hot (but not too hot) glue gun to glue monkeys to straws. And you're done! lol


She loved them and immediately knew that they were MONKEY STRAWS!

I finally got around to making electrical jewelry!  Yay!  I finished 2 pairs of earrings.  Here's the link:

Additionally, I picked up fabric from my friends mom!! 3 boxes and 1 box of patterns! Heaven!  My  mom gave me that "you're bringing more stuff home?  And where do you plan to keep it" look that I'm sure other people also get, maybe from husbands/boyfriends, etc.  My boyfriend is happy about it, i think it might be different if it were at his house! Lol

I finally got around to making jewelry from electrical parts! (I just finished my electrical engineering degree!)

First pair:  I found the metal part at Michael's on sale for $2.99!!! and then I painted resistors with gold paint, just so that they match better, but you can still see some of the stripes of the resistors!  LOVE THEM!
