1  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Toddler Art Apron (reversible) on: March 16, 2009 03:05:04 PM
I only had a little bit of this cute fabric left and needed a first bday gift. It's reversible and was about as easy as humanly imaginable. I think I'll make a few of these for my own little artist!

2  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / For the lovers of the French Press on: February 25, 2009 01:40:26 PM
This was a valentine's gift for my hubby. I suspect he may love his french press more than he loves me so why not crochet a french press cozy for him!?

3  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Ice storm + Destash = cute hats! on: January 28, 2009 01:03:04 PM
So the hubby was away this week and we were stuck inside due to crappy weather so I decided to destash and make a few gifts...the heart hat is a valentines day gift for my niece and the hat with matching booties for a friend about to give birth to her first baby girl. Over all I'm happy with them but the booties turned out slightly different in size. WTH???

4  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Valentine project ideas??? on: January 14, 2009 05:53:46 PM
I'm a novice/ kind of a little better than novice crocheter (is that a word??) Would anyone like to share cute/ funky valentines patterns or project ideas that aren't too difficult? I'd love to try something new for my daughter and hubby.

Thanks!! Huh
5  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / "le hamster" from the Mr. Funky pattern on: January 10, 2009 01:09:58 PM
My first go at using an actual pattern. It didn't turn out quite as cute as the one in the book (duh) http://www.misterfunky.com/book.html.
I stitched eyes instead of using plastic ones because it is a gift for a baby and I'm paranoid about choking hazards. ~

6  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Funky beanie hats with huge flowers on: January 10, 2009 01:05:47 PM
We were on vacation this week with no internet and no cell phone access! What's a girl to do? CROCHET, OF COURSE! These were my two favorite completed hats. I think the black one if kind of chic, actually, and I don't generally say that about my own, amateur crochet creations! They are both mohair with vintage earrings in the middle of the flowers.

7  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Cutest Baby Kimono Top for my niece on: December 31, 2008 11:39:32 AM
I've been dying to try this pattern from Habitual

I had some cute leftover fabric from some pillows I made and it was just enough to make this tiny little shirt for my niece. This pattern is SO easy and quick and totally worth it!

8  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Completed Projects / Reading Corner in living room for Toddler on: December 29, 2008 02:59:05 PM
My DD LOVES to read books etc. and she was always carting everything into the family room and leaving it EVERYWHERE (a kid? make a mess?? NO! Wink Finally, I decided to just give in to it and try to make an area that she enjoyed and that I could stand looking at everyday of my life. So here's what I ended up with. Recovered a body pillow in AMy Butler fabric and made numerous pillows and a circus style tent that unties for a little hide and seek fun. She loves it and I like it too!

9  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Easy- Peasy Neck Warmers on: December 28, 2008 02:53:54 PM
I am frequently irritated when my big, long winter scarves get caught in car doors, yanked on by my toddler etc. so I have become a big fan of neck warmers lately. Here are a couple that I made this week. The blue one is just a bunch of circles stitched together and held with a brooch. The beige one if for my mom!

10  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Babyfood jar/ Cupcake pincushion with pin storage! on: December 27, 2008 03:26:31 PM
I am VERY new at crochet and, apparently, completely incapable of following a pattern. I was doing my best at cobbling together different patterns to make some play cupcakes for my daughter and didn't have any dixie cups like one of the patterns suggested for the cupcake "cup." After scrounging around I found a bunch of old babyfood jars that I had saved and used that instead. Then I glued the cupcake lid on top of the jar and thought that it would be perfect for storing pins! So, my daughter isn't getting any new play food this week and I'm getting a brand new pin cushion! WHOOO HOOO!
