1  COOKING / Recipes and Cooking Tips / Bread machine recipes for lazy robots? on: December 31, 2008 12:08:22 PM
Okay fine, I'm not a robot. But! I did get a bread machine for my birthday and I am generally quite lazy. I've been searching for good bread machine recipes resources and most are garbage. Any suggestions (including books--yay library!)?

2  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Asymmetric cabled neckwarmer (Tudora from Knitty). Hot necks coming through! on: December 21, 2008 08:23:37 AM
I was looking for (and found!) a quick project that combines all of my favorite things: cables, the color green, buttons, asymmetry, and warm extremities! The pattern is free on knitty.com (called Tudora). I didn't bind off in the ribbed pattern because I thought the straight BO line worked better for this piece. The pattern was really simple to follow. The hardest part was picking the button!

I used Lamb's Pride worsted (85% wool, 15% mohair) in Oregano. I used less than 1 skein.

Sorry for the not-so-how photo quality. And yes, I AM that pale!

And the back...

Beautiful work!
5  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: Ruffles obsession on: December 21, 2008 08:13:44 AM
They are both excellent! I've never made anything ruffled... do you know of a good (free) online source for learning how to ruffle all my boring projects?

I didn't think much of this pattern when I saw it on Knitty, but seeing it on you, I'm tempted to make it! And the black bra strap showing on the Hey Teach sweater is kind of naughty librarian!

I am not confident enough to attempt argyle yet, but your project inspires me!

This is so different and lovely! Thanks for the pattern link!

Thanks for the pattern! This looks like something a ballerina would wear... I am not a ballerina, but I'd wear it anyway!
10  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: February Lady sweater.... another to add to the many in cyberland on: December 21, 2008 07:57:39 AM
This is great. Is the pattern your own? I think it would also look fantastic with long sleeves, too!
