31  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / WIP Wednesday - Aug 17 on: August 17, 2011 03:32:13 AM
Wow...it's been a month since I last posted a WIP Wednesday.  I've been in the process of moving and it totally took up all my time!  Now that I'm feeling settled, I'll start posting these again.

This week I'm hoping to actually pick up my cardigan again...I haven't touched it in a month now.  I have finished several items for the Giant Swap but I can't post any progress of that here.  Smiley

I've also been working on this baby sweater for my sister's friend.  The knitting is totally done but I just need to add some buttons.

So...what are you all working on this wonderful Wednesday?? Smiley
32  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / WIP Wednesday - July 6 on: July 06, 2011 12:03:56 PM
My main project this week is my Circle Socks for STS.  I have about 4 more inches of the foot then I'm done!  I can't wait to block the leg of these because the pattern looks much nicer stretched out.

I also started a cardigan for myself!  This will be the only the second thing I've ever made for myself!  I got some Malabrigo Lace yarn in a swap and it's going to become a cardigan.  Smiley  Not very much progress since I'm focusing on finishing up the socks but I just had to start it once I got the yarn.

What are you guys working on this week?
33  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Purple Sweater on: June 29, 2011 12:12:03 PM
I've been working on this sweater for 2 1/2 months now and am FINALLY done!!  Smiley

It's the Amelia pattern from knitty.

It was for a swap on raverly and it didn't fit me too well, so I didn't get any pictures of it on.

I'm only down to 1 WIP this week!  I guess that means I better start something else!!

Circle Socks - Not much progress from last week...but now that I'm done with the purple sweater I can focus on these.  I really like the pattern on these and they seem to knit put pretty quickly.

What are you working on this week?
35  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Duck Tape Dress on: June 22, 2011 07:39:22 PM
The roller derby league I belong to was in the Duck Tape parade this year so I thought it was a perfect excuse to make the duck tape dress I always wanted to make!

I started out with this blue dress I found at the thrift store....

Then I covered it in red duck tape.

At this point, I tried it on and was very upset that it would no longer zipper.  I think by putting the tape on the dress it took away all the elasticity.  My mom came up with the idea of cutting the sides and putting in triangles to widen it around the hips/butt where it was too tight.  So...if you attempt to do this...I would buy a size bigger dress!  Or maybe stretch the dress when putting the tape on.

I really wanted to include the logo and skates.  So, first I attempted making a stencil out of regular duck tape using plastic wrap (and then later wax paper) as the backing of the sticker.  But that failed miserably.  Then I remembered seeing the new duck tape sheets at JoAnns.  So, the next day I went out and go those and it worked great for the stencils!

I'm very happy how it turned out...even though it was sooo incredibly hot during the parade! Smiley
36  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / WIP Wednesday - June 22 on: June 22, 2011 11:58:18 AM
This week I started a new pair of socks for MissingWillow in STS.  She wanted navy and wine...the navy faded pretty bad as it was dying.  Sad

Anyways, the pattern is pretty cool...it's these weird circles.  I thought it would be more difficult but it's really an easy pattern and it's going fairly quickly. Smiley

And this crazy sweater....still working on the arms...I have about 11 1/2 inches done now.  I got to get to 22.  So over half way there!  Smiley

So...what are you guys working on this week??
37  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Spiral Socks on: June 17, 2011 08:08:10 PM
I FINALLY finished my spiral socks.  I've been working on these for 2 months now.  I don't know why they took so long but geeze I'm glad I'm done!

38  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Pinwheel Sweater on: June 17, 2011 08:06:30 PM
I made this cute child sized pinwheel sweater for a swap on Raverly.   It was such a fun quick knit.  I'm considering knitting an adult sized one for myself. Smiley

39  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Gnome on: June 17, 2011 08:04:04 PM
I made this cute gnome for the IYP Swap.  He turned out quite big...he was about 2 ft tall.  Smiley

40  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / WIP Wednesday - June 15 on: June 15, 2011 10:08:58 AM
I'm still working on the same stuff.

Purple Sweater- I didn't do anything on it this week.

Green Socks - I'm soooo close to being done!!  One more inch of the pattern for the leg then I can start the ribbing!  I feel like I've been working on these forever since I ripped them out several times!

My yarn is drying (I dyed it the other day) for another pair of socks for STS.  I'm also hoping to get my yarn spun and start my shawl for the Sheep to Shawl Challenge.  I just got my KnitPicks interchangeable needles in the mail today (Happy Birthday to me!!) and I'm so excited to use them!  Smiley

So anyways...What are you guys working on this week??
