21  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Shawlettes on: January 21, 2012 06:23:43 AM
I knit these two for a personal swap.

The yellow one was knit with some yarn that I dyed a long time ago when I was in a yellow mood.

This one upsets me quite a bit...I knit it to the pattern but it came out rather small.  I knew it looked small as I was binding off but I thought maybe it would block out more.  Oh well..

So...what are you guys working on this week?

I'm still coming along on my plaid bag that was supposed to be a going away gift (in August) then a Christmas gift....maybe it will just be a "I miss you" gift someday soon!

I did finish up two shawlettes for sheepBlue.  I will post them real soon. Smiley

What are all you knitters out there doing this week?

Also, can you guys please give me your opinions on Knitting Challenges in this thread here  I really want to get one started soon if there is any interest.  Smiley  Thanks!!

One of my many goals this year was to remember to post WIP Wednesdays....(I missed last week...opps  Embarrassed )

I'm working on a project for a personal swap...so I will not post pictures until she gets it.

What have you guys been working on lately (since we haven't had a WIP Wednesday for a long time now) or this week?   Grin  Grin
25  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Faces Sweater on: December 29, 2011 08:37:59 PM
My sister and I decided to knit my mom a sweater for Christmas.  We were discussing what to put on the sweater and came up with silhouettes of our faces.  I knit the front and the one arm.  My sister knit the back and the other arm.

I first took our pictures then printed them out two pages high.  And then cut them out.

I knit a little bit of dark grey at the bottom and measured my stitches.  I came up with 4 stitches per inch across and 6 stitches per inch high.

I then used this website to create graph paper with boxes 1/6 in X 1/4 in so that each box was the same size as one stitch.

I then traced our cut out faces onto the graph paper and there was my chart that I knit from!

I'm sure there might be a program out there or something to create charts with but I thought this was an nice easy way.  And it actually worked out!!
26  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Crochet Jeep Tire Cover on: December 29, 2011 11:53:47 AM
I saw one of these on pinterest and knew I had to make one!

I just used a doily pattern with a bigger hook and yarn.  Then I did some decreases to make it fit snug around the back of the tire.

I'm so excited to make more!
27  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / WIP Wednesday - Sept 21 on: September 21, 2011 03:46:59 AM
Sorry I forgot to post last week...this working thing is KILLING me!!

Anyways...I knit a bit more on my green sweater.  I'm knitting this one so I can help my mom and sister knit theirs.  It's kind of funny since it has soo many cables that they are knitting this as their first sweaters and really haven't even knit much before...oh well...they picked the pattern.  Smiley  But I do really like how it's turning out.

So...what have you guys been working on?
28  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / WIP Wednesday - Sept 7 on: September 07, 2011 03:46:26 AM
I actually had some more free time last week.... Smiley

I knit a bit on my blue cardigan.  This one was frustrating me because it's lace weight yarn and I just didn't have the patience this week....

So...I started another with worsted weight.  My mom and sister are making sweaters for each other and wanted me to help them since neither have ever knit a sweater before....so I decided I must knit myself one to help them. Smiley

So...what are you guys working on?
29  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / WIP Wednesday - Aug 24 on: August 24, 2011 03:41:35 AM
Another Wednesday...and I feel so unproductive!  I pretty much knit maybe a 1/2 inch on my cardigan last week....grrr.  Moving and having a real job really takes away from my knitting time!!

So...make me jealous...tell me what you did this week.   Cheesy
30  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / WIP Wednesday - Aug 17 on: August 17, 2011 03:32:13 AM
Wow...it's been a month since I last posted a WIP Wednesday.  I've been in the process of moving and it totally took up all my time!  Now that I'm feeling settled, I'll start posting these again.

This week I'm hoping to actually pick up my cardigan again...I haven't touched it in a month now.  I have finished several items for the Giant Swap but I can't post any progress of that here.  Smiley

I've also been working on this baby sweater for my sister's friend.  The knitting is totally done but I just need to add some buttons.

So...what are you all working on this wonderful Wednesday?? Smiley
