23  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Valentine's Day / the LOVEBUGS! on: January 30, 2005 02:16:57 PM
http://mmm-fruit.com/-/2005_0129_gagalovebug.jpg

GAGA the LOVEBUG

Out of nowhere, the LOVEBUGS appeared! These little critters must have been shot with the arrows of cupid, because all they can think about is love! Gaga got his name because he gets gaga-oogly-eyed over every pretty girl he sees. Guys, this is the perfect gift for that let that pretty woman know she makes you go gaga.

Hand-stitched with magneta & black felt and stuffed with polyester fiber-fill! Smiley

I'm going to be making another Lovebug, named Woo!  That is, once I can get a hold of some red felt.  All the stores are out! ;_;
24  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / my new camera bag! on: January 18, 2005 06:21:46 PM
eep, i thought i posted here already, but guess not. Smiley
just wanted to show off my new camera bag. total cost of this bag was $3.78 or so, for two yards of fabric (with some still leftover), a yard of velcro (with some leftover), and the strap.  got everything at walmart. sooooper-cheap!

i also bought two yards of this greyish semi-stretchy fabric for $2 total, and made an a-line skirt and a purse..

everything was made with no pattern, except for the rough sketches and stuff i did myself. spent a whole day working on these because my dsl was down a few days ago.
25  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Discussion and Questions / question about stiffening the bottom of a bag on: January 15, 2005 08:36:07 AM
I'm planning to sew up a small bag to hold my 35mm camera, and maybe some film, pens, small notebook, etc.. since I'll be carrying it to my photo class, and out and about.

i bought two yards of this sturdy fabric, so it won't stretch around.. and i was going to at least double the fabric, so it'd be extra thick. the thing i am concerned about though is the bottom of the bag. cameras are kind of heavy, and i'm afraid the bag will sort of droop rather than retain its shape, and won't be as protective if i don't have a sturdy, thick bottom.

i was wondering what i could put in-between the outer and lining fabric to make the bottom thick/sturdy? i'd use  noncorrugated cardboard, since i read about that somewhere (i think on craftgrrl), but i'd rather use something that would be safe to wash/get wet.

27  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / Optimistic / Pessimistic Valentines Cards & Stationery on: January 02, 2005 06:54:54 PM
I had been working on prototypes the past few days for valentines.  I finished the final sets of my optimistic & pessimistic valentines tonight!  Smiley

There are seven cards in the Pessimistic Set and six cards in the Optimistic Set.  I only printed out one of each set, and will be printing out the rest as needed.  In addition, I printed some matching stationery.  Each set has four pieces of paper (two optimistic, two pessimistic) and two envelopes.

28  COOKING / Recipes and Cooking Tips / Peppermint Mochas on: December 20, 2004 05:57:45 PM
I did this tutorial for the lovely ladies at the craftgrrl community on livejournal, but I thought all of you here at craftster would enjoy this as well.

My wallet wasn't so happy with me constantly spending $3-4 at Starbucks for my latest addiction (their Peppermint Mocha), so I started making them at home instead.  We already had the coffee, and all I had to buy was creamer and candy canes, which totaled to ab out $4 but there is enough to make a lot of coffee.  Smiley

29  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / GBA Carrying Case for GameGirls ;) on: December 20, 2004 05:53:36 PM
So, my mom, my boyfriend, and I all pitched in and got my sister a GameBoy Advance SP for her birthday (early December).  And for Christmas, I whipped up a carrying case out of extra fleece.

I decided that this bag was much better than the plain dinky knitted one I made myself (which was only large enough to hold the actual GBA SP, but no games, link cables, etc.), so I made another one for myself, as well

30  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / neutral colored blank journal on: November 18, 2004 09:56:40 PM
Another blank book.
I messed up the original covers, but had extra scrapbooking paper to use. Stab-bound with cream colored ribbon, and the paper consists of various neutral colored cardstock. Measures roughly 7.5" x 5.5".  Total cost of project was roughly $6 with lots of paper and supplies still to spare.

Giving this as a gift most likely on Christmas to my cousin's family to use a photo scrapbook of some sort.

*photos levelled in PS so that the book colors turned out almost exact
