What kind of glaze did you use? I've never seen such a metallic looking glaze except for raku.

You should sell some of them, I'm sure people would love to buy local, organic, kiwis.

Another thing that could make the details stand out more without changing the overall effect is using some watered down paint then wiping most of it off, like a stain.

agreed with maxxev on the bowl. It looks like those rocks that are rough on the outside but crack open to reveal crystals on the inside.
8  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: *Things with Tentacles* Signups June 21st-July2nd Sendouts Aug 2nd on: July 26, 2010 09:59:58 PM
I had a great idea for a large the other night and have been working steadily on it. I've already put in like 5 hours, not counting all the drying time. UGH i hate waiting for things to dry!
I'm also getting paint all over myself... I love it  Wink

But I'm super psyched to see what my partner thinks of it. Its going to be a time crunch but I think I should be able to get everything ready to send by August 2nd!

Unfortunately i wont be able to work on it tonight.
I just got a tetanus shot and its all i can do to keep my head up right now at work. an hour and 10 minutes till i get to go home and pass out on the couch.

Didn't you say that you had a large item almost completed several weeks ago? Remember, it's only a 4 point swap! : D But I'm super excited to see what you've been working so hard on. I've finished most of your items and I think they turned out really good, I hope you'll like them.

I don't smoke, but I am allergic to cats. I don't think it will be a problem as long as any cloth items are kept relatively cat hair free.
10  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Pottery, Ceramics, etc: Completed Projects / Chinese Dragon Vase on: June 24, 2010 08:30:02 PM
This piece is a collaboration between me and my ceramics teacher. I told him what kind of vase I would like, and he did a wonderful job throwing it on the wheel. Then I sculpted the dragon and glazed it with low fire glazes.
