1  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / look what I made with a small curtain on: July 31, 2010 04:18:36 PM
I was at the thrift store the other day and found a sheet, a pillow case and a small kitchen curtain. they are all ventage faberic.

well I attacked the yellow kitchen curtain first.

I was able to make a complete outfit for Kara with it. The curtain had this cute embroidored insert and I used it to make her a dress. It is a simple shirred dress without straps. I had enough material left over to make bloomers, a hat, and a headband with a flower.

hope you like it.

5  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / tweety bird dress on: June 13, 2010 08:03:59 AM
I found this cute tweety bird fabric at Walmart in there discount section. it was only $2.00 a yard. I used about 1/4 yard and some bias tape that cost $1.44. the bloomers are made of another discount find that cost me $1.00 a yard. all together this dress cost about $2.75 to make.

this is my youngest son helping his sissy to model her new dress.
6  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / the sunny day dress on: June 08, 2010 02:46:10 PM
hello fellow crafters,

I wanted to wait  and show off all the different things that I have made over the last few weeks all at once but sadly I can't show off. almost everything that I have made was in the wash that had a blue ink pen in it. all my hard work down the drain   Sad

oh well. just glad I hadn't spent a bunch of money on fabric Smiley

to make me feel better I went and got some really cheap but cute fabric from walmart to replace what was lost. when I saw this sunny fabric I knew how I wanted to use it.

it is a holter top dress with shirring on the back and matching bloomers.

here is an image of the back

the matching bloomers

Here is a close up of the fabric

thanks for looking c&c always welcome
