it is shirred. it is one of the funnest, easiest, and most forgiving technique I have learned sense I started to sew. find a good tut and have a great time.

I was at the thrift store the other day and found a sheet, a pillow case and a small kitchen curtain. they are all ventage faberic.

well I attacked the yellow kitchen curtain first.

I was able to make a complete outfit for Kara with it. The curtain had this cute embroidored insert and I used it to make her a dress. It is a simple shirred dress without straps. I had enough material left over to make bloomers, a hat, and a headband with a flower.

I have a company picknic to go to in a few weeks and need some new shorts to wear. any ideas on shorts that don't require a zipper (bad experience) but isn't a full elactic waiste band?

try bias tape. i use it when i make my daughters dresses (although i apply it before i shire.)
