1  Re: Promalong - Making your own Prom dress? Join the club! in Clothing Sewalongs by fancypantsayla on: February 06, 2005 10:34:39 AM
I, too, am long past prom, (well not that long...) but I *loved* my dress.  Sorry I don't have a better straight on picture, but it was really beautiful.  Sage green chiffon over grey-green silk, with a reallllllllly low, flowy boatneck.  I'm not usually an embroidery person, but it looked nice on this dress.  Anyways, If I were to go to another fancy-shmancy thing, I would definitely wear this again.  I thought I would post in case any inspiration could be gleaned from it.  And hey, it won me the crown, it must have looked good...

2  Finished wavy scarf - how to block? in Knitting: Completed Projects by fancypantsayla on: December 07, 2004 03:33:24 PM
See new scarf:

See new scarf curl (on right side):

Bad scarf, bad.
How do I block this?  Do I need to get it wet first?  I have never blocked except with an iron, so I'm not sure as to the technique.  (The yarn is Paton's Divine, 79.5% acrylic, 18% mohair, 2.5% polyester.)

Thanks for any help!
