1  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Re: Dress---McCalls 5094 View D on: June 30, 2011 07:44:08 AM
this is a cute dress, similar style to what i've been looking for.  looks like you did a good job from the pictures Smiley

This looks very well made. Good job!

Pro Tip: if you are fully lining a garment and don't want to take the time/expense of making a muslin you can make the lining first, and transfer alterations to the pattern after fitting. This way the alterations you made to the muslin will be on the inside and not showing and you won't have to fuss with the fashion fabric quite as much. This is especially useful if you end up having to make something bigger.

this is a great tip!  thanks!  i recently struggled with make alterations after lining a dress (and putting in the zipper... ugh)
2  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Re: Elegant and still comfy - another jacket on: May 20, 2011 06:12:45 AM
i LOVE this jacket, and i loved the first one too! i would also love it if you felt compelled to share the pattern/inspiration/tute  Cool

i'm hitting up the fabric store today, i'll have to keep this one in mind, maybe i can just look at your pics and figure something out. imitation is the highest form of flattery, right?  Cheesy
3  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Discussion and Questions / Re: Weekender Bag Fabric on: March 21, 2011 09:02:51 AM
i haven't actually made this bag, but i've read some reviews for it on sewing.patternrevie w.com

someone used regular cotton quilting fabric and said they attached fusible interfacing to it and they seemed happy with the results.  also, another reviewer made the bag at half it's original size and theirs turned out really nice.

you should check out the reviews on there, it's free to sign up and then you can read a gazillion reivews on all types of patterns.

good luck, hth Smiley

9  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Valentine's Day / Re: What are YOU giving your valentine? on: February 14, 2011 01:53:34 PM
the 5 love languages is great!  have you ever read the book?  if not, you should consider it.  my mom and step dad just finished it and gave it to me and my bf.  i think all couples should know things like this about each other... the quiz sounds like a great quick way to do it too!  Smiley

aww bummer!  Sad  maybe he's waiting to surprise you with something tonight?  idk... my bf's not crafty at all, but at least he can appreciate when i'm crafty for him..

maybe next time he hands you cash you could wrap it up in some really cool package and give it back to him since he's not very clear about what he wants you to do with it...

hopefully there'll be some chocolate in that basket he picked up, because chocolate makes everything better..
