4  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Need suggestions please. on: January 27, 2013 07:48:15 PM
I am creating this piece for our Local Arts Society to display in one of our exhibit halls.  So far, the background is all textured papers, then painted over that.  The palm tree is hand embroidered wool felt.  I haven't attached it yet, but plan to after I hand embellish the palm fronds a bit with some thread.  What else does it need?  maybe seagulls?  a beach chair beside the tree?
Any and all critiquing is welcomed.

Here's the final product!!!

6  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Owl Wall on: December 18, 2012 07:26:13 PM
THis is now hanging in my new craft room.  All of the owls are stitched except the largest Black and white (DD drew that with a black sharpie pen), but I just had to include it in the collection.

Some of these were stitched by me, but most were from swaps here on Craftster.  I just LOVE all of my owls (and hope to add to this wall more and more).

Also, will have pictures of my craft room all done soon (I'll post those on my blog)

Hope you enjoy!
7  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Pincushion swap or Hoopla swap on: December 17, 2012 08:49:41 PM
Anyone up for a pincushion swap or another round of Hoopla?Huh

I am trying to collect pincushions in a beach/ocean theme.

and I'd love to do a Hoopla round with a monogram/initial............

anyone interested?

I would be willing to host the pincushion swap (I've never done one before but I can learn!), but it would def have to be in January.
Not sure if there's a hoopla swap discussion going on, I couldn't find one.

10  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Discussion and Questions / Hoopla Wall on: September 25, 2011 07:53:05 PM
I just have to share my Hoopla Wall with all of the Craftster world.  If you've done any of the hoopla rounds, or ongoing hoopla rounds, you've seen this (probably more than you want to, haha), but I just am so happy with it.  Sometimes I just go and stare at it!
I have 11 empty hoops hanging so I'd know what sizes I needed to "complete" this wall.  I told Limeriot (organizer for the hoopla rounds) that we needed at least 11 more rounds so I could fill up my wall, hahaha!!!

All were from swaps except the little "village" at the bottom (oval hoop) - that was found at the thrift store. and the "dowhat" boating on gray fabric, black hoop.  That was originally a machine embroidery on a sweatshirt (its the name of our boat) but the sweatshirt didn't fit and I wanted to keep this part since a friend made it for me, so I "hooped" it.

Hope you enjoy looking.
