81  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Discussion and Questions / walter the snail on: January 08, 2009 09:06:17 PM
this is walter. i rescued him from a box of celery at the restaurant that i work at.

i just got him a little house,

but i want to make it a bit more cozy for him. i read that snails like to have things to climb, (climb? glide? ooze?) up, so i want to make him some sort of tree-like structure. any ideas?

84  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Discussion and Questions / question from a newbie on: December 27, 2008 09:15:51 PM
i have never done any embroidery before, but i'd like to try it. i'm not really a traditional kind of gal though, i dont really want to be working on home sweet home signs. i'd rather be embroidering skulls or some other silly stuff. does anybody know a good book for beginners that might suit my tastes?

87  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / dead horse head. first post! on: December 23, 2008 09:28:13 AM
soo, my boyfriend LOVES the godfather, and i was trying to come up with something to make him for christmas. if youve ever seen the movie, i'm sure you remember the scene where they put a severed horse head in a guys bed. well, my boyfriend has to hug a pillow when he sleeps at night, so i figured, i'll make him a dead horsehead snuggle pillow. who doesnt want to cuddle with a dead horse right?  now dont laugh, this is my very first sewing project, and i am not artistic to boot. on second thought, laugh away, its supposed to be ridiculous! oh yeah, and after i gave it to him i realized i forgot to give it ears! ha ha!
