1  Re: Fill A Purse Swap Round 4 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by danirene on: May 20, 2009 11:36:34 AM
I got my package today! The bag is PERFECT and these fillers are exactly what I needed. Watch out... this one has a million pictures, she sent a lot of stuff! Sorry the pics aren't great... cellphones aren't the best for photographs  Tongue

Here's the bag. The colors are MUCH better in the second shot. This fabric is so great!

The whole package... I got SPOILED!

First up, an awesome tea wallet. I've wanted one of these for so long, and just never made myself one...

I almost used that same brown and blue fabric on your stuff, hardcoremothball! It's beautiful.
The inside:

Then, I got a couple of cute little zipper pouches. These will be so handy, I use little pouches for just about everything,
it seems. One matches the bag and the other is a really neat green circle print.

After that I found a cute little key fob, no close up of that one, sorry!
Then we have the most awesome thing ever: a gorgeous journal and case. It's got little pen holders in it, and more writing space than I think I could ever use. I've been wanting to get back into journaling for a while, and this is the perfect thing. I love it so much, will be great for all my festivals this summer.

On to the extras! Yes... there's more!
She sent me the cutest elephant ever! I love elephants so much, and have been collecting them for years... I think I'll name it Izzy... heh. He is SO SOFT.

There were also stickers! They have little elephants and other animals in them, and trees and mushrooms too! These will be going in the journal, I think.

She also included a pair of flip-flops, which are unfortunately too big. I have a friend who is moving to New Orleans this summer though, and they will fit her... so I think I might decorate them and send them to her as a going-away gift.
Last, there was lots of really good chocolate. I didn't get a picture cause I had to hide it before the boyfriend got to it. Smiley

Thanks hardcoremothball! This is an awesome swap package! AAAAH!

2  Pantyliners! in Completed Projects by danirene on: March 22, 2009 10:27:40 AM
So... I'm an affirmed moon cup user, but well... I needed some back-up.  Wink

So... I adapted the reusable cotton maxi-pad pattern into some reusable cotton pantyliners!
They are tiny (5.5in x 6in) and super thin (four thin layers) and they work like a dream! I left the pocket open, so that toweling can be added, but I highly doubt I'll need that.

Check it out:

As always, C&C appreciated!

Peace be with you.

Oooh!

Found one more of my little furbabies... Here they are drinking water together. They do this one a lot, it's too funny for words.

Can't wait for partners!

Okay y'all... looks like I'm in!

I only really have pics of Jay... Silent Bob is TOO FAST for me to get her in the frame, I always get a blurry picture of rat butt... Sad But... Here are a few of Jay in all her glory:

Eating my dried rose:

Climbing on some soap:

Sleeping with Silent Bob:

I wish I had a real camera... the cell phone doesn't show nearly enough of the cuteness.  Grin

5  Re: Buy Nothing/ Green Swap Gallery (send outs 3/18/09) in The Swap Gallery by danirene on: March 20, 2009 09:58:57 AM
That firedancer is BEAUTIFUL!
I love it.

Also.... I got my package from Rangerbeth today! Everything is AWESOME. Thank you so much Rangerbeth!

Sorry about the pictures, all I;ve got is a cell phone... Sad

First, a new elephant stuffie! I've named her Penelope. Here she is hanging out with Gordy, who is excited that she is here. Gordy always loves new friends, especially sexy green ones...  Wink

Next, she sent me this hilarious messenger bag made out of a cat food bag! It's fully lined and has inside pockets. She's right, it does still smell a teeny bit like cat food... Smiley
Here's a picture of my dog modeling it:

And last, there is an adorable purple pin-cushion bracelet, a retractable tape measure covered in a felt leaf, and a hand carved leaf stamp. I love all three. I've never had a retractable tape measure before, I can't wait to use it.

Ooh!

She made me a pair of Yoga pants too... but I forgot to take a picture cause I'm wearing them right now.  Grin Grin

Thanks again Rangerbeth!

This bag was born with a bit of help from my friend Sarah, who wanted to try a new shape of bag. So... we came up with this little guy. It's black cord with vintage lace and vintage pearlized beads.

I love this little lace flower we made... The beads in the center are pink!

I've been on a headband kick lately... I love these little things! They are sch a great way to use scraps from the stash. They are all made from recycled materials.

This one is patchy with zig-zag detail:

Super bright green with greek-key stitching:

8  Blue Flowers? I guess... in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by danirene on: February 11, 2009 01:26:31 PM
So, this dress started out as the ugliest blue shirt ever. I don't have a before shot, but imagine the biggest blue hawaiian womens shirt ever, with a high, round collar.

Okay... so. I cut the neck into a very deep v, cut the bottom off, too the whole thing in (including the sleeves) and added a wide lace belt. I also changed out the buttons. I'm still not perfectly happy with it, but hey, it's better.

On to the pictures!

Whole dress...

I told you it was low cut!

And the back:

Thanks for looking, c&c appreciated!

9  The Afternoon Picnic Dress. My first thread! in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by danirene on: January 04, 2009 07:52:06 PM
This is my very first dress posted here on craftster and I am super excited about it! I've been making dresses for about a year now, but just discovered craftster this month...

This little picnic dress is made out of vintage cotton that I found outside in a park near my house. The straps are reconned from an old belt I had laying around.

What do you think? I like it...  Wink
