1  Re: 2015 Holiday Crafting List in Winter Holidays by myloveasdeep on: November 24, 2015 06:52:04 AM
I've been working on building up my herb garden for the past two years, and I harvested and dried TONS of stuff this summer! I've got a few herbal teas I'm making for people out of that.

Solstice Tea: dried cranberries, dried orange peel, peppermint, cinnamon stick

Relax Tea: lavender, lemon balm, skullcap

Daughter, 2: Making: crocheted Jake the Dog doll, red velvet riding hood, fairy tale shadow puppets, MAYBE wood blocks from the fallen birch tree in our yard. Buying: Red Riding Hood and Puss in Boots books, magnetic drawing toy, wind up toys, big cardboard blocks, pajamas and Christmas outfit.

Husband: Making: PB puppy chow, picture of him and our daughter in a wood frame with a woodburned quote..not sure what yet  Buying: pens, Dance Dance Revolution, Sagan's Cosmos series on DVD, Mjolnir pendant, pajamas, solar fire starter, Japanese panda candy.

Friend J: Making: Woodburned goddess spoon, a few medicinal teas I know she's comfy with that I will create just for her.

Friend C: Making:  medicinal teas I know she's comfy with, homemade pumpkin spice syrup

Friend H: Making:  Solstice Tea, tub tea

Brother/SIL: Making: white embroidery on black cloth of their names and wedding year

ILS, Nonnie, Great-aunt: Making: Shutterfly photo book of daughter's year (Aunt will also get Solstice and Relax teas)

Here are some initial pics of the beautiful package Betsy sent me! I'm sure I'm missing something, as Ariadne ran off with lots of it (I think her mask is currently on a doll).

We're going to an Elves and Fairies festival in Boulder today where all the little kidlets dress up and have a parade, so there should be some cuuuttteee action shots for me to post later of Ari's Beltane gear!

Thank you, Betsy!!

3  Lavender and Tea Tree balm in Bath and Beauty: Completed Projects by myloveasdeep on: April 04, 2015 12:59:43 PM
I made this today using this tutorial: http://girlfifteen.com/2015/03/11/diy-lavender-and-clary-sage-facebody-balm/

I chose it especially because it doesn't involve jojoba, vitamin e, or any other expensive or hard-to-find ingredients. I used a few drops of tea tree instead of the sage, but not too much because I want to be able to put this on my face, and tea tree oil can burn.

I doubled the recipe and used three little jars I got from the thrift store. I sprinkled some dried lavender buds on top. I know that risks it going moldy sooner, so I'm giving two of these away and using it quickly.

4  Snowy owl ornament in Crochet: Completed Projects by myloveasdeep on: December 22, 2013 07:04:43 AM
Inspired by owls from a broken link at loobylu for which I could not find a pattern.

I made it from a ball shape, a triangle, two circles and two leaf shapes. It's for an ornament swap party, but I want to keep it!

I have received from our fearless leader!

First up, a Seamstress Guild t-shirt: Often licked, never beaten! That's the spinach right there. A book necklace with a tiny metal-stamped OOK! (loves), and my FAVORITE: A shrine to Anoia, Goddess of Things That Get Stuck in Drawers!

It has a tiny metal spoon in the shrine itself, and a wee drawer with a padlock and key in it, for the opening of said stuck drawers! I LOVES IT. The details! They slay me!

Thank you so much, lady4feet! You rock!

I received from frosty! A leather tarot card cozy. My husband has two decks and only one case, so this will prevent his Thoth set getting lost . It's beautiful work, thanks  so much dear!

I LOVE those rainbow stitch markers and the blocks!

I am still here, my baby ended up coming 10/10 and needing a short hospital stay so I've been housebound. Sending to sparks tomorrow when husband is home to help with the post office trip. Baby picture as proof and apology for late sending:

Baby Ariadne and squid both made by me. Smiley

10  Adorable baby bonnet and boots in Knitting: Completed Projects by myloveasdeep on: October 18, 2013 06:26:17 AM

My baby Ariadne is a week old and finally wearing the knits I did this summer. The bonnet is herehttp://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/simply-seamless-cap

And is a great pattern! I embroidery a tiny Chicken on it based on a vintage bonnet I saw. Caron simply soft yarn.

The boots were a little tricky to keep track of rows, but they stay on, which is rare in boots! Patternhttp://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/baby-boots-4

Lion sock ease in Lemon drop.
