This is actually my new school year resolution anyway! So great that there's a craft-along too.

I pledge that I shall try and make at least part of everybody who would appreciate it's present this Christmas. And make small presents for more distant friends, and part of presents for closer family and friends.

I made my best friend an embroidered pillow in August, along with a satchel.

But since september :
Best friend from secondary schools birthday 29th Sept - made her some bunting for her new uni house




October -
Make handbag for uni friend - 70% done
Make Dress for mum - got the fabric

Boyfriend's birthday in December

Love the star design, nicest undercut design I've ever seen!

I finally got around to doing my rainbow hair Took me about an hour start to finish, but I did have to mess around getting the placement right ( not enough hair!) I did red, orange, yellow, green and purple, Indigo always seemed a bit confusing and I figured the rest of my hair was blue so I missed those out. I left the dyes in for about 4-5 hours (conditioning veggie dyes, all by directions [except the purple which was a mix of two by manic panic, but that was just because I wanted them gone. and the green which was a stargazers one I've had forever.)



And from the side, this photo is just after waking up so it's not flattering, but shows the colour placement

I made this bag for my best friends birthday, it has a zippered pocket in the back, a front pocket and a divider in the main compartment with a pocket (which is edged with piping covered in the outer fabric )



The outer fabric is a type of paisley-ish cord, it closes with a magnetic closure, and has D rings on either side to make the strap more comfortable (she often wears her bags diagonally across her) and I used ready made webbing because the cord had a bit of stretch to it and I figured it'd be more difficulty than it was worth

I folded the front pocket and pressed it in place to make it so there wasn't a seam on it, I thought that it looked better that way. The entirety of the paisley fabric is interfaced with a medium weight interfacing, the divider is also interfaced, and then sewed inside out so there were fewer seams on show.

The fabric was about £3.90 for a metre, I've still got some left from that though, the pink was an old pillowcase (lovely soft cotton though) the webbing was about 0.30-0.50 pence per metre and I got 1.5 (but only used probably 1-1.2, can't remember)
I didn't use a pattern, I just sketched what I wanted and winged it.

It's perfect as I received my swap package from a personal swap with Tlh, which was reeses, so have been using it to hide them from myself

I am a long time lurker, but this is my first post, after being confronted with some of the things people on here can make, it has taken me a while to dredge up the courage to post this . I make quite a lot of random things but this is the dress i wore on new years eve.

I found this absolutely lush t-shirt in a local charity shop ( a thrift store, type thing), the fabric was lush, but it didnt fit over my bust, So i brought it and paired it with a pelmet off an old bed sheet, and some netting left over from a failed project and some fabric i brought at a charity shop.
Please ignore the truly awful expression on my face, i think i was mid-dance (the skirt is lovely and swishy)

the top layer of the skirt has a geometric print on it.
