1  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Argyle Bag Pattern? on: June 30, 2009 10:50:15 PM
Hi there!
I want to knit my friend a bag for his birthday. He loves argyle, knitted items, knitting, dice and a few other things. My idea was to knit an argyle bag and stitch pockets into it for knitting needles, dice and other things.
The only problem I'm running into is that I can't find an argyle pattern! I need something that isn't for socks or sweaters, and that's relatively simple.
Can someone help me find a pattern? I've googled it and come up with nothing. His birthday is in two weeks(I'm a fast knitter), so I need this pattern soon-ish.
Thanks in advance.
2  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Puzzle Pieces, An Endpaper Roll, An old Board game and a of a lot of fabric! on: February 12, 2009 09:21:11 PM
Hi there!
I have alot of stuff, that I've accumulated. My mom works at the newspaper, so she brought home an endpaper roll for a project, but it never got used. I also saved an old scooby doo board game from the trash, and a huge puzzle. The pieces are the size of my hand. I have various fabrics that have been given to me, and only a few are the right size to make clothing out of. I have plastic water bottles, and wooden letters and lots of glue.
Anyone have any ideas?

3  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Fabric Knits? on: January 11, 2009 05:10:39 PM
I got a whole bunch of fabric from my friend, and since I'm hopeless at sewing, I thought I would cut it into strips and knit with it. So far all I've made is dishcloths, and I was wondering what else I could knit with fabric?
4  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Afghan Help? on: December 31, 2008 03:28:08 PM
For christmas, my Gramma gave me a $30 Michaels gift card. The next day, I went to michaels and bought a bunch of yarn and paint and such. I bought a big ball of Bernats Afghan yarn in Coffee(or maybe it was chocolate, all I remember is that its a dark brown.). The big ball is about 700 yards. The smaller balls I bought are about 150-300 yards each. I wanted to make an afghan, but since I've never done this before, I was wondering if I could get some help.

First, I started knitting little squares with the intent of sewing them together in the end. But then I realized I would lose squares and not be able to finish it.

Does anyone have any ideas on how I could do this? I really really want to make an afghan.

Thanks

Alice.
5  KNITTING / Knitalongs / What Do You Call A Fish With No Eyes? -along on: December 25, 2008 10:22:15 PM
So I was sitting around looking at random blog posts, and I found this:
http://blog.360.yahoo.com/blog-hPoyIeslcqobrefmpVg-?cq=1&p=7
Finally, a use for my left over christmas yarn!
I am planning on making a full-sized blanket from these fishies, and anyone is free to join.
Although it may take a while, it looks like it would be very rewarding.
Im just casting on for my first fishie right now.
6  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing Machines: Discussion and Questions / I need some help with my sewing machine. Its really old. on: December 13, 2008 06:15:17 PM
Hi!
This sewing machine was bought by my grandmother at garage sale. It was then given to my mother, who has now given it to me. My mom never used it, so when I got it, it had a full bobbin. Now the bobbin has run out, and I cannot figure out how to replace it.
My camera isnt working, but I found a picture of it here.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
