1  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Colour advice! vest/waistcoat lining on: August 27, 2010 08:36:37 AM
I've been working on Burda style's Franzi pattern. This is actually the first piece of clothing I'll have made from scratch, and so far I'm pretty happy. But now I have a dilemma about what colour the folded collar should be, and I'm sure you awesome crafters can help!

Here's the waistcoat so far, closed, with my two colour choices for the collar shown. What do you think of the contrasting fabric?

Open. This way, I like the look of the lining fabric as it is.

Close-up of the fabric I'm using. Some really thin, greyish pinstripes, hence my lining choice.

Alternate outfit! I'd love to be able to wear it with this dress, but I'm not sure if the lining colour sticks out too much?

Here are my options:
1. Completely grey lining, as shown on the right side of the vest. Contrast will show when the collar is turned down.
2. Make new lining from the outside fabric, so the vest is all brown. Brown fabric will show when the collar is turned down.
3. Lining made from combination of both fabrics - just a little brown on the inside of the collar so brown shows when it is turned down, but grey shows when the vest is open. Does that make sense? *fail at explaining*

Let me know what you think! Thanks Smiley
2  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Tiny dragon (and my first craft post!) on: January 28, 2009 12:03:44 PM
Hey everyone Smiley
I'm a long-time lurker who has finally got an account, thought I'd share this little dragon I made as a present. He's made of felt, and pretty small. I didn't get anything as a size reference on the photos, but he's only a few cm tall.

Hope you like him!
