1  Re: Sewists/Yarnies vs Papercraftsters Gallery in The Swap Gallery by AKAmber on: November 29, 2010 05:51:00 PM
Ok, so I actually received from Green r my tears the day before Thanksgiving but we had a lot going on with that and the day after was my sons birthday so I am finally getting around to posting pics of my wonderful package! She sent me so wonderful items: 6 placemats, a reuseable shopping bag, a special blanket for my son (she knew his birthday was this month), a purse for me, an ornament, a pot holder, and some cloth napkins! Whew... it was a lot!! Here's some pics:

A shot of everything.

The blanket for my son - she even put his name on it. (Although it's hard to see it in the picture.)

My favorite thing... a beautiful paisley purse with lots of great pockets inside!

My new placemats and hand towel.

Thank you sooooo much Green R My Tears! I love everything and I feel so spoiled!

I received from aethelberga yesterday and I have to say that it just made me laugh and I love it! She chose the Tudors from my choices.
So here she is - Anne Boleyn before and after losing her head!

Thanks so much aethelberga - she just makes me giggle every time I look at her. Thanks for swapping with me and for hosting this one!! Smiley

3  My First Rag Quilts in Quilting: Completed Projects by AKAmber on: September 16, 2010 01:01:37 AM
My sister taught me how to sew by also teaching me to make rag quilts. I made my first one while visting her and I kept it for myself. Here it is:

I loved making mine so much that as soon as I got home I decided to make one for my son. Here's his:

Then my husband felt left out and wanted one for at work, where it gets very cold. So I made him a big one in his favorite color... camo.

Would love to hear feedback. Thanks for looking!  Smiley

4  Canvas Project for my Sister in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General by AKAmber on: September 16, 2010 12:53:19 AM
This is a canvas I painted and papercrafted with a poem I wrote especially for my little sister. I also embellished it with various flowers and dew drops. We were having a fight and not really speaking earlier this year and I made this for her birthday to let her know that no matter what, she is my sister and I love her.
Just thought I would share some of my work. I hope you all like it. :-)

Here's all my goodies I got from Kartiana! Thanks so much! I got tons of fibers and papers, even some foreign book pages which are really cool, buttons, ribbon, flattened bottle caps, stickers, and tons of inchies for my crafting delight!!

This was a great first swap for me because I love ATC's and Kartiana was so wonderful to include the inchie stuff because I am addicted to those as well. Thanks so much for hosting tinybits. I am looking forward to many more swaps on here!!
