21  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Re: Felt Christmas Bunting (pic heavy) on: December 16, 2011 09:10:41 AM
Thanks so much  Grin  I had fun making them...accept for the hot glue burns haha
22  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Completed Projects / Prettying up the DVD shelf on: December 16, 2011 09:03:14 AM
My husband insists on having all of our DVDs on display (like trophies), while I would rather get rid of the boxes and put them in a book to save space and hide the ugliness.  Oh, well...you can't win them all.  So I decided to pretty it up a bit to make it more bareable.  I bought some wooden letters from Michael's and painted them red to work with the colors in our apartment.  Then I hot glued them to black wooden bases, so the words can be switched around.  Then I topped it off with some wedding photos.

23  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Yarn Ball Christmas Wreath on: December 16, 2011 08:53:19 AM
I made this yarn ball wreath like many of the ones I've seen online, but I decided to go without the ornaments and just use the yarn balls.  I picked yarns with some sparkle to give it some umph.  After buying a bunch of the styrofoam balls as the base for the first bunch of yarn balls I decided to save some cash and use junkmail, masking tape, foil....whatever I could find for the rest.  They ended up looking exactly the same, so if I make another wreath like this I know I wont have to buy the styrofoam.

Close up

The back is a wooden base I bought at michaels and in the spirit of using things I already had, the hanging loop I actually cut a small piece from my wonder woman costume lasso of truth.  haha

I am really OCD about symetry, so this project really challenged me to go random with the placement and the color choice.
24  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Felt Christmas Bunting (pic heavy) on: December 16, 2011 08:18:01 AM
I made this Christmas bunting out of craft felt, a few odds and ends.  I used green bias tape along the top.  I'm pretty proud of it and now I have something that I can reuse year to year....until I get tired of it I guess.

here are some close ups

25  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Fabric Christmas Wreath on: December 06, 2011 08:31:35 AM
I made this fabric Christmas wreath out of scrap fabric, polyfil, ribbon, felt, red bells.  The red cardinal is an old beloved, handmade felt tree ornament that I snipped the loop off the top and perched (hot glued) to my new wreath.

I need to find a more sophisticated way to hang it....right now I'm using a paper clip haha!
26  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Marvel vs. DC Gallery on: November 13, 2011 07:40:57 PM
I received from VampAracely actually a few weeks ago, but there was a mix-up with my camera cord.  Sorry about the delay.

A crocheted pouch in wonder woman colors and a crocheted pink wash cloth with the supergirl symbol.  She also threw in a couple of wonder woman comics and a wonder woman shopping bag.  Thank you.

Everything looks so great here.  I have misplaced my camera cord to upload pictures.  Looking desperately for it.  I'll try to have pictures of my package from VampAracely as soon as I can find that darn thing.  Apologies!

Yay!  So glad you like it, Vamp!  The Spiderman thing is a little tin covered in poly clay with a poly clay Spiderman face and the web is iridescent hot glue.  I thought it looked really "webby."  The tin is usable and the top is lined with felt.  Not sure what would fit....maybe jewelery or tiny papercraft supplies.

I like this idea!
