21  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Cephalopod swap!SEND-OUTS 9-19!SIGN UPS CLOSED on: August 22, 2010 02:38:55 PM
I am laid up with cramps of the worst kind, so this is perfect time to put on some episodes of Supernatural, curl up on the couch, and craft up some cephalopods!

I'm doing the same thing! I have so many ideas floating around my head that I'll probably just start crafting them. And whatever doesn't fit the partner I get, I'll just keep. Not like I can have too many tentacled items!

I really shouldn't have joined! I swore to myself that I wouldn't join any more swaps for a while! Buuuut... it's Cephalopods! How could I resist that?! I am absolutely in love with them!

So, with great shame at giving into the irresistible temptation: INFO SENT!

Man, when I get more time and more yarn, I am going to go on a Pokemon making spree! I absolutely adore your patterns! Maybe sometime you could make a Mew-two? My favorite Pokemon of all time!

Hahaha! Thanks everyone! I am definitely going to have to make one for myself as well! It was so very hard to send him away! However, I know he has a good home!  Grin
27  CLOTHING / Costumes: Completed Projects / The Scarecrow, from Batman: Arkham Asylum (VG) on: July 03, 2010 02:55:31 AM
Hey there, everyone! It's been ages since I have posted! Too much to do, and too many costumes to work on to actually finish anything!

Anyways, there was a comic convention here in Spokane, and, being the huge Batman freak that I am, I simply HAD to Dress up as The Scarecrow, from the video game Batman: Arkham Asylum. His costume is probably the scariest costume I have ever seen (I am terrified of Medical Needles. I'll very nearly pass out if I have to get blood drawn...). However, I am insanely obsessed with Dr. Jonathan Crane, the Master of Fear, so I fell in love with his costume! The best portrayal of him I have ever seen. Perfect.

Well, it was a hellish struggle to make it, and I agonized over it for about two and a half months. But in the end, I succeeded! I went with two of my best friends, who dressed up as Poison Ivy and The Penguin respectively. There were a TON of Batman Villains (No Batman, though.  Huh) It was cool to prowl around with the other villains and hunt for Batman. There was a costume contest, which I won 'Most Authentic!'. I was thrilled! Overall, it was a hoot and I had a ton of fun!

I am not going to go into huge details here on this post, since I just got done writing down all of it to post on my website, and it is far too much text to put here and expect all of you to remain reading. If you want to know more detail and see a ton more pictures, go to my website here: http://alexandra-the-great.webs.com/apps/blog/show/3913449-the-scarecrow-finished-

Anyways, here are the pictures!

The Reference pictures. This is what I was basing my costume off of:::

Thanks for checking it out! Look on my site for a very detailed write up of how I made it, as well as more pictures and some in-progress ones as well!

28  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: One Tiny Star Trek Thing Gallery! on: May 16, 2010 09:31:28 PM
I received my package from StrawberryJeli the other day, but I only now just got around to being able to post pictures. I was caught up in the preparations for the baby Ball Python I just brought home today!  Kiss

Anyways, This was the outside of the package, and it made me squeal out loud. I am cutting them out and they are going on my wall!

The outside of the amazing tin I got! It is really cool feeling and I love the stars!

And the inside of the tin!

I absolutely ADORE it! It is 3D too, though it is hard to see in the picture, so that he is literally inside of the viewscreen and popping out from the back of the tin! I have it by my bed so whenever I am writing and making stupid and illogical mistakes, I can look over, open it up, and get helpful, overly complicated advice from Mr. Spock!  Cheesy Wink

Thank you so much, StrawberryJeli! I love it!
29  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Re: What Is Zebra Print, Leopard Print, Checkered, and Has Bubbles All Over? on: May 13, 2010 12:20:28 AM
That is an awesome idea! It sounds like something that I would love to do. I love social experiments like that, not to mention bananas are amazing! It seems like it would be fun scattering them around everywhere. Tongue
