Here are my GD's from Amigurumi4life..... ...love them....totally love them.  The work right into the project I'm working on!

And I got a little surprise gift from Kittymom13 for sending along her GD's to her partner.  I am in LOVE with the pink varigated...I want skeins and skeins of it...

Thank you.  I love them all!!   Grin

Well, my 2nd partner received some time ago, so I guess I'll post some pictures for her.

I made a "utility belt" out of cotton velvet left over from my wedding 10 years ago
front

back

I tried my hand at stamp embossing the velvet...didn't work perfectly, but I get the idea now.  *L*

I made a cowl...she said she liked black and lime green.  I put buttons all over it....every button on there is from some other outfit or craft I've made...there's even a shamrock button left over from my wedding dress.  *L*

Some earrings

And my favorite piece...I was sad to see this one go into the box.  I took an old broken watch and turned it into a pendant.  I was going for something cool you could have found post-apocalyptic...

It's so hard to get a good picture of this...but the guts were taken out of the watch and all the gears were reassembled....the glass was broken, so I tucked in little bits of moss and a couple of silver dragonflies....

I hope she liked everything!   Grin

My partner hasn't been able to post pictures so I'm gonna post a few of the stuff I sent....

A tiny duffle bag.  I really thought it would be bigger when I cut it all out!  *L*

lined it with power puff girls   Grin

I made a couple shirts

with the team logo on the front

and I made a skirt that I had to wrestle away from my 16 year old daughter.  *L*

I sent other random stuff...water bottle, snacky protein food like nuts and jerky.

I had a really good time putting it all together.... Grin

I received my package from lilgothkatt yesterday!  I am in love with everything in there!!  Really, really love it all!!   Grin

First, I got a scarf made of knotted knit.....brilliant idea!  As soon as I saw it I put it on!!

Followed by a skirt!!  It fits perfect...I just didn't have anyone to take pictures of me in it!!  She left it kinda plain so I could add stuff if I wanted.  It's super comfortable and I'm already planning on wearing it today!!   Grin

back

THEN....check this out..

How incredibly cool is that??  The box itself is totally awesome....and there was stuff inside that made it even better!!

an earring made from a bullet casing.....Love it.  I tried really hard to get a picture of this in my ear....but all I kept getting was bright white pictures of every part of my head but my ear.  *L*

Thank you, thank you....I love everything!!

I received my package from parallax on Friday...I have't had 5 seconds to take pictures.  Buuuuut....I am in love with every single think in that box and I will post pictures tomorrow!!  Thank you, thank you......I love it!! Grin

Ok....on with the pictures   Grin

First she made me a pennant for the Apple City Roller Derby...a brand new team in our area!!  Now I can be a proper fan  *L*

and it's reversible...

She made me two incredible derby girl pictures....did you draw those?  If so....soooo jealous....drawing is NOT something I'm good at.  *L*

AAAAAAND....my very favorite thing in the box.....little puffy spanky shorts with pink bows!  I am so in love with these!!

a little close up of the bow!
Up there in the corner is ribbon that matches the bows...and a package of button...pink glittery roller skates!!  Grin Grin

Thank you so much.  I love love everything!  Pennant is hanging, pictures are on the picture shelf and the shorts are going with me to a convention this weekend!

17  Clothes for the Post-Apocalyptic Girl in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by ShannonMB on: March 22, 2011 05:43:41 PM
I just recently finished up a post apocalyptic swap and was pretty excited about how everything turned out, so I thought I'd share.
I didn't spend any money....everything was made from stuff I had stashed around my sewing room.   Grin  All modeled by my scrawny 16 year old daughter who just woke up.  *L*

I crocheted a cowl and added lots of ribbon and ripped lace.  I made some crocheted gears to put on it.  I love this...may have to make one for myself.

I made a crop jacket.  The body is sort of camo-ish.  I thought it looked old, dirty and rusty...perfect for the end of the world.  The sleeves are knit.  I will say, it just seemed wrong to make something then start cutting and tearing holes in it. The zipper pull is an old key.  I didn't have a pattern for this...I just started hacking into the fabric.  *L*

Then I made a bustle skirt....I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to pull this off....but once it was done I was very sad to send it away.

I used this pattern...  http://www.cutoutandkeep.net/projects/burlesque_bustle_skirt

I am pretty darn happy with how it all came together!

I'm still here, I'm still here....the past couple of months have been a bit of a mess for our family.  First I got sick and ended up in the hospital for 9 days....then my husband's dad passed away on Monday.  And somewhere in that mess I got a fantastic package from alchamy....everythi ng is pink and black....I absolutely LOVE every single thing!!  So, enough excuses Shannon..get on with the pictures already.

First....everything came wrapped in pink and black

I did get a giggle that it said 2010 instead of 2011...I didn't actually notice until my son pointed it out!   Grin

Inside all that pink was......A necklace that I adore...have already worn it to work!!

Hair clips....they are made from pop tabs....love them.  Wore them with pigtails!!

And....goggles..... HOT PINK AND BLACK GOGGLES!!  I was so darn excited.  I am putting together a steampunk outfit to wear when we take our daughter to an anime convention next month....these are so going with!!

And the biggest and best....a hot pink and black bustle skirt!!  (it fits me way better than it fits my dress dummy, Betty.  I have a better squish factor  *L*)

ignore the shirt Betty is wearing...it's something I'm working on  *L*  I couldn't get anyone to take a picture of me in it!

Thank you thank you...so much.  I love every single thing you sent!!   Grin
