Wow! Fantastic pendants all - Especially like the Princess Bride one! and the neat fused one Thrifty4U made!

Just so happens I received some pretty amazing wonderfulness today too!!!

First, from Sparks -  a little "whimsey" and a little "sparkly" - love these! The purple one will look great with a new sweater I just bought and the sparkly one with lots of other things!
Thank you Sparks!!!

Then - from the eclectic and creative - Dr Craft - I received 3! (Ahem dear Dr Craft... this was a "2" item swap! I feel guilty since I only made 2... but I'm keepin' all of these! lol)
Three very unique and beautiful pendants (with chains/ropes - sheesh! over-achiever!!!)
I *love* the little red 'heartofglass' on the one with the shells!

4  Re: Make-a-Friend Swap Round 9 :: Summer 2012 GALLERY in The Swap Gallery by aheartofglass on: August 10, 2012 06:14:36 PM
I received my fantastic package from RaraAvis and I'm so jazzed!!!
First, from my wists - she made me these funky, fantastic earrings that I've been wanting - they are sterling sliver and so intricately crafted!

Then she found this horseshoe charm and made me a lovely, lucky necklace (which must have worked because I wore it today and this tough deal I'd been working on closed! Yay!!!)

and finally she found me this amazingly intricate horsey bead! It's so detailed in such a small bead! Amazing! and of course, I can't get a good clear picture of it...  Undecided Take my word for it! It's beautiful.

Thank you so much RaraAvis! You've been such a lovely swap partner! I'm so sorry I've had issues with your last package and it's so late...

I actually received my Package 2 from RaraAvis a few days ago but I've been a slacker about getting the pictures up...
I was sooooo jazzed with my package that I couldn't wait to try the stamping stuff out!!!
Anyway - I better post pics so you all know what I'm talking about!

First off, the works...

So much coolness!! RaraAvis sent me a "how to" kit for metal stamping which I've been fascinated with and wanting to learn for a very long time. Her tutorial/instructions are awesome and she sent me an assortment of copper (soft) metal blanks to start with!

There are a set of stamps and a metal block to put the copper piece on before I whack the stamp to make the image! This "whacking" part is very satisfying! Especially after a looooonnnnnnng! I figure I can find some soft metal and stamp it full of swear words when I'm having a crummy day!  Cheesy
Actually... kidding... but the experience is very tactile. I think I'm going to like this!

And for when I'm relaxing after hammering away all of my stress.... she sent me an amazingly beautiful mug rug! It's made with horsey fabric which I love! She sent me a lovely tea cup and saucer and some green tea to sip (I love green tea)

and finally - she sent met this exquisite little amethyst horse! It's so lovely but I could not get a good photo of it to save my life  Sad

I love everything! Thank you so much RaraAvis!

I received my package from RaraAvis some time ago and am just now getting pics uploaded. This in NO WAY reflects on the package... I've just been slammed with work. and then I *lost* the pictures in one of my appraisal files...

Anyway - on the the fabulousness!!

It was such a big package that I couldn't get a good photo with everything in it for an "overall" so it's in batches:

Hobbies: Cooking - Some lovely wooden spoons! (I love to cook too and agree, you can never have too many!)
Hobbies: Collecting - One of her main collectables are "things from different cultures" as she is an anthropology major. So the little brass buddha is representative of her collecting! (I love this and it sits atop my computer to remind me to find some time for calm)
Favorite: Fashion Brand - Free People - some warm and snuggly socks for the winter - these are so soft and lush it almost makes me wish for cold weather! (ok, not really! but I will enjoy them when the temps take the inevitable plunge!)
Drink: Pomegranate White Tea (wait... do you know me or something?!  Wink we have very similar tastes in many things!)
Favorite: plant! A cute cactus! looks great next to my kitchen sink!
Favorite: Freebie - Burt's Bee's lip balm - mmmmmm. Love this stuff

Closer to home: local - Stunning cards from Canyon CA - these are beautiful!
Closer to home: career - a pencil from the College of Alameda where she works! (This is a great one for me as I still use pencils every day for my work!)
Closer to Home: Holidays - Her favorite holiday - Christmas - These beeswax ornaments are a family tradition! they are lovely and will look awesome on our tree! (I will enjoy them whilst wearing my snuggly socks!)

Craft it: A little needle felted bird! This is so dang cute! I can't believe you've only been doing this craft for a short time! I love this
Craft it: Candle Making - since she was a little girl - a family craft! So cool! I LOVE THESE CANDLES! I use candles all of the time and these will be awesome for special occasions!

Extras!!! Lots of beads and stones and brightly colored bits of glass!!! Yay! And a colorful pouch to tote them in! These will all go to good use in my studio!

Thank you so much RaraAvis! I really, really enjoyed opening each parcel and learning about you!

7  Re: 4x6 art swap rd 2 **gallery!** in The Swap Gallery by aheartofglass on: May 18, 2012 04:40:55 PM
I received a most amazing work of art from untouchableface today! I am in awe! This is so "me" too! It's quite a mix of techniques too - collage, paint, felt, fuzz and sewn! I love the statement too "I reject your reality and substitute my own" so true!
Thank you so much! I love it and it's now gracing my desk, next to my monitor, to remind me *constantly* that I am not this reality I currently find myself trapped in...

8  Re: March 2012 Birthday Swap - Discussion and Gallery in The Swap Gallery by aheartofglass on: April 10, 2012 03:56:16 PM
Received my fabulouso birthday presents from DiscoQueenHighness yesterday!!!
So creative and thoughtful!!!

First off, a set of Art Journal pages (which I'm new to but LOVE!) these will make such an amazing addition to my Journal!
First pic is the lot -

Then in groups of two:
These are dandilions and positive sayings. "Attitude is a small thing that makes a big difference." Very true!! very lovely

These two deal with gratitude and "believe" - I especially liked the line, "there are good days, and there are bad days, and this is one of those." Ain't it the truth! lol

The last two went together in a rather ironic way... "Make Time for Me" is something I need to do, and rarely ever do but it ended up next to the lovely horse drawing and when I looked at them together it looked like the horse was saying, "make time for me" which my Miracle is absolutely saying!!! Subliminal guilt manipulation via swap - now that is one gifted medium of a horse!

And if that wasn't enough... She crafted me an amazing eyeglass holder thingy since I'm forever losing my reading glasses!!! I love this and it's around my neck even as I write! (this picture does not do it justice at all...)

But wait! there's more! She even included some pretty beads for me to use in my own crafting!

Wow! Was I spoiled this birthday or what?!

Thank you so much DiscoQueenHighness! I am beyond delighted! and I apologize for the mind manipulation my horse used on you to get you to guilt me into spending more time with him!

Received my birthday present from ecopp today!  Cheesy
A cute set of horsey coasters that are quilted. My photo doesn't do them justice! She quilted along the horse to add emphasis.

A pretty blue scarf with keys appliqued on it! The keys have hearts in them! Very lovely and spring-like too. it's nice and light and I can wear it anytime!

Thank you very much ecopp! I feel very spoiled for my birthday month!

10  Re: Art Journal Page Swap - Send by April 2, 2012 in The Swap Gallery by aheartofglass on: April 02, 2012 08:13:40 PM
I received my pages today!!!
Awesome and greatly appreciated!

First off - a lovely fairy with an inspirational *reminder* Love this and it's hand drawn by the talented GoldenSunshine!

Next another fairy - a collage type with fairy on a background of trees. This one made me laugh out loud because of the expression on the fairy's face. lol!

Then came 2 pages based upon the Hunger Games books which I've enjoyed very much! The first has a great quote, "you never forget the face of the person who is your last hope." Great choice! I liked that line very much.
The second page has the MockingJay pin and the books.
These have room for me to add text or other tid-bits to!
Love it!

Thank you GoldenSunshine! I loved them! They're all in my journal now!

I'm very pleased and loved this swap and experience!
Thanks to GoldenSunshine for being a great partner and to Smmarrt for organizing such a great swap!
