ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / World of Warcraft or Blizzard Games?
on: February 28, 2013 04:49:35 PM
I was thinking another round of Warcraft but to include Diablo III & Star Craft since The Heart of the Swarm is due out soon. Sign ups mid-late March to mid April, 6 points with a month of crafting since it is around finals time? I do want to take school into consideration. Blizzcon was just announced and I get pretty excited for the conference that I want to make things to wear or share with friends before we gather in (pun intended)hordes. I can organize as long as there is interest soon, closer to summer and I will have more on my plate and won't be able to give it all my attention. Let me know if any one has questions or concerns or send me pm's. UPDATE:I thought I would include past round galleries for some incentive. CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Adventure Time Lumpy Space Princess hat. NOW WITH PATTERN!
on: November 27, 2012 04:12:03 PM
So after I made this Jake hat for my husband, I had my little (10 y/o) cousin request a hat too. I told her to look at some pictures of hats and I would try and replicate it for her. She calls me back and sends me a picture of Lumpy Space Princess, then I remembered I showed her a picture of the previously mentioned hat. So a week later I have a hat with some attitude. She's crocheted in single crochet, lumps, band, and arms are double. I used all stash and tried my darnedest to write down my pattern. It's a medium in kids. Let me know if someone wants it, I will try and post it, although I've never done that before. Might have to walk me through it. Anyways, please tell me what you think. Sorry it took me so long, had to rewrite pattern due to some discrepancies on my notes. If you happen to make one I'd love to see your take and results. Again I'll apologize ahead of time, this is my first pattern. Let me know if there is anything I need to edit. CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Adventure Time, Jake hat
on: November 18, 2012 06:00:51 PM

Made a custom hat for my hubs. He's pretty heavily obsessed with Adventure time. He even dressed as Finn for Halloween. Took me a bit to get it just right since he likes his hats to fit a certain way. He mostly all single crocheted, using red heart acrylic. His arms and legs are double half crochet and everything is stuffed with yarn scraps and some poly-fill. Took me a month off and on, for about 30 minutes a day. He's supposed to look like he is relaxing on his head. Link at the bottom for reference on who Jake is and where he's from. Comments and critique always welcome. Cartoon Network's Adventure Time.

JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Geeky Jewelery Organizer to fit me
on: September 23, 2012 07:54:39 PM
So for years I have been searching the internet, wists, pins, anything really for a jewelery organizer that fit me. To never find anything like this. I do like the lovely framed versions but I don't fit the girlie/feminine genre when it comes to jewlery. I think boxes are too bulky for me and the jewelery trees seem to just get forgotten by me to end up with layers of dust on them after months. I had an idea and remembered I saved one of my husbands really old computer mother boards years ago that I wanted to turn into a frame. A trip to The Home Depot and hours later my personal jewelery organizer was complete. Thanks for all your help my awesome hubby! Well.... I do want to tweak it a bit to add a place for my rings but I think it's perfect for me! Mr. Venus and I used an old mother board with out the processor, 1 thin piece or arcylic, 2" screws with nuts and used a dremel tool. We hung it by ethernet (networking) cables, and it holds over 44 earrings, and the threaded bar atop is for my bracelets, rings and necklaces. Thanks for looking.

TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / A spell to make me smaller

Reducio!Luna Love good wanted to be smaller. The dirigible Plums would be bigger and then the Nargles might not be so pesky if they didn't notice her smaller items. SHe is no less adorable and strangely unique when smaller, in fact she's even cuter. I enjoy her this way, i'm sure others will also. I know my Tiny Harry Potter swap-partner did. Luna is crocheted with an E hook (3.25mm) using acrylic yarn in black, white and cream. Her blue eyes are glass, her mouth embroidered in dusty pink. I hand crafted her plum earrings, beaded her necklace my self and fashioned her Butterbeer Cork out of polymer as well as her wand. She comes with her gray crocheted scarf, Ravenclaw House robes, tie and Spell book. I also made her a mini Thestral with shrinky plastic as well as her famous Spectrespecs with The Quibbler. I plan on making a whole cast of Harry potter characters if I could only find the time. Luna and her belongings. Her earrings and a pet Pygmy Puff. Luna's necklace, wand, scarf, mini Thestral, and the bag she carried in the movie with a quibbler and glasses. Thanks for looking.

CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Good News Everyone! A special amigurumi delivery.

Just like a good handful of people on craftsters, I too am a Futurama fan. I joined a swap.. finally. I decided I needed to make the most adorable, yet confusing couple in Universe A. All made of acrylic for strength, used a G/6-4.24mm hook. All except one color of the yarns was part of my stash, and so was the felt. All hand sewn & crocheted by be using a book I got from a good friend, Amigurumi for Dummies. I used the boy pattern with slight alterations here and there. I didn't want to put too much detail into it cause I am one of those who believes in "less is more". I hope you enjoy them as much as my partner and I did making them and the photos too. Here is Phillip J. Fry and Turanga Leela who are flying around the galaxy delivering packages. Here they are landed on a strange planet to deliver a crafty package. Romantic Nebula picture. Oohs and Aahhs encouraged. Bye Bender. Here are some close ups of the crocheting WIP's. Thanks for checking on the happy couple. Comments & constructive criticism always encouraged.
