2  My first self-designed sweater! in Knitting: Completed Projects by staralee on: August 22, 2005 06:55:36 PM
It's a mix between glampyre's boobholder and a lace pattern I found in the Spring 05 VogueKnitting. It's actually a lot more blue, not so gray.

To see more pictures, visit my blog: staralee.blogspot.com.  If you would like to know how I created it, just ask!

3  Help with buss. card in Crafty Business Discussion by staralee on: August 08, 2005 07:32:40 PM
Ok, so I have NO experience with this, but I'm trying to make my own bussiness card (b/c people keep asking, as soon as I sell some stuff I'll get a proper one)   Please be honest, brutally honest

4  Re: Let me make your craft 3 gallery in The Swap Gallery by staralee on: June 15, 2005 06:57:14 PM
arg! everytime I try to post this something goes wrong...so here it is:
I got soopah's supplies and WOW! what crafty goodness! beads, charms, bottlecaps, stove knobs (what?), fabric with horses, felt, weeeee!

I had some ideas of what to do with the mini-cheeseburgers (yes, you read that right!) but I need to know, are you a knitter, soopa?

Yay! I can (finally) contribute to the gallery!
Here's what I received from Hambucket...a beautiful bag for my knitting supplies:

I love it-thank you!

well, since KraftyKritter *accidently* peeked on my blog--she's seen what I made her, even if she hasn't received it yet!
here it is:

Hope you like it and thanks for the comments, KK!

7  2 Buttonhole bags (with link to free Tutorial) in Knitting: Completed Projects by staralee on: April 16, 2005 08:22:58 PM
I found this pattern here: masondixonknitting.com and found it super simple and fun to mess around with the sizes. Here are the two I made:
The first one was made with Cascade 220 and was, in my opinion, too floppy, so you really do need bulky wool (like the pattern says) I've got it next to an Easter egg for scale:

This one was made from some yarn that I recycled from a $1 Goodwill sweater and then dyed with Berry Blastin Kool-Aid:

8  Re: First Sweater Support Group in Knitalongs by staralee on: April 07, 2005 05:55:23 PM
oh, I hate to post this happy post after that one! I'm so sorry about your sweater--don't give up!
Here's my finished sweater, made out blue (and variagated blue for the stripe and arms) mohair...The yarn was sooo much brighter than I had anticipated (I  bought it from ebay) but I'm still proud of it! It's real comfortable and I learned so much from it, but I'm glad that I went with cheap yarn for my first sweater!

oh, I love it Roe! and in that picture it doesn't look too small, I actually have several cardigans that I only wear open, it looks like you meant it that way! You are an inspiration to those of us chugging away at our first sweaters...Here's my progress (well this is last week, now I've finished the front and am 1/2 way through my first sleeve)

whew, looks pretty bright there...it's not so bright in real life (but is, still, louder than I had envisioned) Roll Eyes

After reading all these helpful tips on dying I got excited and pulled out a pack of Berry Blast Kool-aid and a partially used skein of Lamb's Pride Worsted. This is what I ended up:

The white yarn is some Patons Divine that I'm using with the dyed wool for fingerless gloves.
