1  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: VDAY Cookie Swap Gallery of Sweets on: February 07, 2009 05:20:06 AM
Not only were they cat bite-sized, but she also cut them into crowns!  She said it was because my cat is the king of my household...and that was the truth! Smiley

Aww, take your time!  I hope your weekend gets better, or at least leads to a fabulous week. Smiley
5  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Valentine's Day / Re: Valentine's Day Gifts? Is this unusual? on: January 31, 2009 05:01:12 PM
I love Valentine's Day just for the fact that I get to run around telling everyone I love them, when I normally can't.  I try not to buy into they hype though.  I like getting homemade cards and cookies. mmmm
I don't think it's at all odd that you make things for your kids and they make things for you (or even just give, not necessarily make).
So, I think you're fine.  Ignore the nay-sayers. Smiley

mmm, looks great! We had awesome (store-bought) cookies at work yesterday--super thin ginger snaps! And some were orange-ginger!

Orange-Ginger gingersnaps?
That sounds wonderful!
7  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Completed Projects / Re: My daughter's zebra striped wardrobe. At least one side. IMG HEAVY on: January 31, 2009 03:59:43 PM
I really love this!  I think seeing how much work you put into it adds a lot too.  I was expecting basic black and white zebra, but this is 10x better!  I can't imagine how long doing those stripes must have taken.  I can't wait to see the rest of the wardrobe!
8  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Re: Tea Wallets on: January 30, 2009 09:46:21 AM
So, quick question for the tea wallet maker and users...
I usually drink celestial seasonings (Blueberry, mmmmmm) and their tea doesn't come in the cute little pouches.  It just comes in the tea bags, ready to seep.  Would a wallet work for these too, or would I end up losing some of the fabulous flavor and aroma?
9  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Re: First Post Ever! Matching DZ bed spreads! on: January 29, 2009 04:04:40 PM
I'm not a DZ, but I am in a sorority.  I love your bedspreads and your rooms!  I think the monogram pillows are my favs too!  I would make mine in turquoise and silver with lots of bunnies, strawberries, and 5-point crowns. Wink

Thanks so much for sharing, and for proving that stereotype wrong!
10  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Lap Quilts For All Swap: Round 4 Gallery on: January 29, 2009 03:12:21 PM
Wow!  These lap quilts are super beautiful....but what is a lap quilt?  I'm assuming it's smaller than a normal quilt, but...do you just put them on your lap while watching tv or something along those lines...reading a book, etc???

Exactly!  The last round I made two for my kids for Christmas and they're perfect!

And that's without any sashing between blocks... they could be much bigger if you wanted...  I love them and so do my littles.  It's a great first quilting project!  And this is such a fun way to do it!

Thank you for explaining this to me. I love the pics of your kids...to cute! Smiley
