1  Snow cookies, Rose cookies and a birthday cupcake cake! :D in Dessert by Gali on: July 30, 2009 04:59:26 AM
We don't usually keep sweets in our house, despite my love for baking.
So when my mom told me we were having guests and that she wants me to make something, I went crazy with happiness. Cheesy

These are Snow cookies, made from Karin Goren's recipe. They're chocolate cookies with  confectioner's sugar on them so you get the cracks effact.

My next batch of cookies is a batch of rose cookies. They got their name for their shape, and are made from yeast dough and meringue. I found them difficult to make, but once their scent started to spread around the house, it made all my efforts worth it.

This is what I made with the leftover dough and meringue -

I made this cupcake cake for a friend's birthday. The cupcakes underneath are chocolate cupcakes and vanilla cupcakes. The frostings are whipped cream and chocolate (instant) pudding cream.
The writing is in Hebrew, and I'm aware that my writing isn't very good, but practice makes prefect! Cheesy
The writing says "Arik, Happy 16th birthday! Smiley"

Thanks for watching Cheesy

2  Chocolate cupcakes and a ghostly birthday cake. in Dessert by Gali on: February 27, 2009 02:49:03 AM
I made the ghost cake for my little brother's 14th birthday. I wanted to do something more complex, but he insisted that I would make him a ghost cake - he's the birthday boy after all... Wink
The idea came from a book. It's a chocolate cake with whipped cream.  Smiley

Today I baked chocolate cupcakes for a friend's birthday - they're awesome! It's a chocolate cake with chocolate pudding cream.

4  A golden hearted box! in CHALLENGE 34 ENTRIES by Gali on: January 04, 2009 08:52:50 AM
It's a shoe box wrapped in this really pretty wrapping paper (which was really cheap!).

It's not the most creative thing in the world, I know, but It's the best I have XD

5  Chocolate cake with vanilla cream and strawberries! in Dessert by Gali on: December 25, 2008 11:00:06 AM
I made this cake for my family's Hanuka dinner.
This cake has nothing to do with the Hanuka tradition, at Hanuka you usually eat Latkes and stuff like that, so you can say I made it just because I felt like making a cake. ;XD
The cake turned out really pretty (and delicious, of course!) and I'm very happy with it (:

6  Vanilla cake and some cute little cupcakes~ (Image heavy) in Polymer Clay: Completed Projects by Gali on: December 07, 2008 12:42:29 PM
This weekend, I continued working on my friend's birthday present, and here are the results! Cheesy
The cake is a vanilla cake with strawberry cream between the layers and it's frosted the white icing (I didn't decide what it is yet XDD)

This is an attempt for cupcakes which I made using a tutorial from deviant art, I like the one with the white frosting the best Cheesy

I had a little frosting left, so I thought that I should use it - I made cute little choclate cupcakes with the white icing  Smiley

Here's the cake without flash Cheesy

And the final picture~

I think someone posted here a cake similar to mine, so I'm sorry if I hurt any copyrights or something ^^;;;

7  Polymer clay miniature cakes! :D in Polymer Clay: Completed Projects by Gali on: November 29, 2008 06:26:49 AM
Hey, I'm Gali and I'm new here, and these two sweets are my very first fimo cakes!
I'm very pleased with how they turned out Cheesy
These cakes and many more that I will make will be a gift for a gluten intolerant friend of mine (I'm going to put them in wooden box on which I'll write "Gluten free refrigerator" or something like that ^^; ), and I hope that with the short time I have I will improve my cake making ability and make better cakes!

Here you can see the texture of the choclate cake (How can I make the texture more realistic?)
