1  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / My cross stitch phone case... on: February 25, 2014 01:16:28 PM
I'm not much of a needlework person. I wish I was but I don't have the patience. My boyfriend got me this case to cross stitch and I loved the idea. It's a small project and makes a really personal case. The only thing I don't like is that the cross stitching changes the shape of the case so it doesn't fit as well.

2  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Tardis Hat on: December 14, 2013 08:33:48 AM
My nephews (4 and 9) love Dr. Who. So, for the younger one, I made this Tardis hat.

In this picture, I haven't sewn on the black strip, but I have since finished it. I used felt for the details and painted "Police Box" by hand with fabric paint.
3  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Long Earflaps? on: November 22, 2013 07:41:42 PM
So one night I'm getting ready for bed and I get a text from a number I don't know that just says, "Amanda?" (That's me). Turns out to be the girlfriend of a guy I went to high school with. We were friends on Facebook but I haven't been on there in forever, and she wanted a hat. She sent me a picture of what she wanted and I just had to dive in without thinking too much. She picked it up last night and says she loves it. I wish I felt the same, but maybe I just looked at it too long.

Anyway, here it is:

4  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / Necronomicon on: July 28, 2013 09:34:02 PM
I posted the cover of this a while back in the clay section. I wasn't going to go through with the binding because I wasn't happy with the cover. However, this wonderful community supported me and talked me into it. I found the tutorial for the binding on YouTube. Coptic stitch, I believe it's called. The binding went quickly and was quite enjoyable.

5  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / Necro-om-nom-nom-icon on: June 27, 2013 06:19:43 PM
Well, I found a video on YouTube about how to bind books so I decided to try it out (still haven't gotten to the binding part). I wanted it to look like the Necronomicon, so i covered the front cover in polymer clay and carved out the face. Unfortunately, the clay shrunk in the oven, which in all honesty I should have foreseen, and the clay cracked right across the face in a couple of places. I fixed it up the best I could and painted it anyway. I like how it looks overall, but the ends of it curled up and I'm not sure I'll be able to complete the binding.

6  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / "I'LL TEAR YOUR SOUL APART... WITH MY CUTENESS!!!!" on: April 21, 2013 10:22:53 PM
I wanted a Pinhead, so I made a Pinhead.

7  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / She Likes My Spark! on: January 04, 2013 11:14:33 AM
This is the Calcifer I crocheted. Funny story, I met a guy when I started college. We became pretty good friends. About a year later, his wife sent me a message on Facebook asking me to crochet a Heracross (Pokemon) for her to give to him as an anniversary present. I was more than happy to do that for her. Then, not much later, he messaged me and asked if I could make a Calcifer for her anniversary present. This situation was just too cute and perfect.

Anyway, it took me a couple of weeks and a lot of work and frustration. It's about 15 inches tall and 34.5 inches around, measured right under his eyes. My friend likes it and I hope his wife does too.

8  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Ladybug ring! on: September 30, 2012 08:46:57 AM
I found an old mold of creepy crawlies that my nephew got and forgot about a long time ago. It wasn't made for polymer clay so I had to be extra careful about using some sort of mold release. I painted it with four coats of acrylic paint after I baked it then used a red, sparkly nail polish to add more interest. I mounted it with E6000 to an adjustable ring band. I really love the way it turned out.

9  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Sophisticated Squid on: September 15, 2012 07:36:36 PM
I have made a lot of squid(...squids?) from this pattern I found here on Craftster http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=380268.0. This guy is my favorite:

10  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Measuring Tape Cuff Bracelet on: September 11, 2012 11:58:05 PM
I found an old measuring tape in a barn a few years ago and just recently figured out something to make out of it.
