Your Sack-people are so awesome.  I attempted to knit one but it didn't turn out nearly as good as this.  Great job!  Smiley

Holy cow!  This is amazing.  My brother would freak out if I could ever do anything like this for him, but I do not have the patience for big projects.  That's insane...in a good way.

This totally rocks.  Great job!
214  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Re: Wicked, wicked dolls on: March 25, 2009 03:54:56 PM
They were easy to make for me, but I have some experience with amigurumi and modifying patterns.  The original pattern didn't have the "pants" color go up very far before it switches to skin and they just make clothes for the dolls.  I wanted the dresses to be completely crocheted as part of the dolls, nothing extra.  The original doll is very easy though.  I would recommend it to anyone wanting to crochet dolls.  The hair was a little tricky but the author of the pattern has a good short hair tutorial.

I either used this one http://geekcentralstation.blogspot.com/2008/03/free-pattern-gandalf-and-legolas.html or this one http://geekcentralstation.blogspot.com/2008/03/free-pattern-aragorn-and-boromir.html.  They are pretty much the same but I had both of them printed out so I don't remember which one I used.  Cheesy

So, I read the book Wicked and loved it.  My friend then read it and also loved it.  Neither of us has been able to see the musical yet, but we will.  I decided to make her some dolls based off of it.

I used a pattern for the dolls from Geek Central Station but modified it to make the dresses.  The hair is just yarn instead of embroidery floss.

This first picture is not mine.  I am not taking credit for it or profiting from it.  I simply used it for reference and thought it was important for you to see why the dolls look like they do.

Here's Elphaba

and Galinda(or Glinda)

I love them.  I almost want to keep them for myself.  Grin
