1  Dragon Ball Earrings in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by marmalade_skies on: April 23, 2015 01:42:15 PM
I've really been getting into Dragon Ball/Dragon Ball Z lately. They've really inspired me to craft more so I made these. I made the balls out of clay and painted the stars on afterward. In order to make them shiny I dipped them in resin.

2  Altered Altoids tin in Polymer Clay: Completed Projects by marmalade_skies on: September 09, 2014 03:19:12 PM
My boyfriend started rolling his cigarettes to help save us some money, but we didn't want to spend any money on a case for them. So I made him this case out of an Altoids tin and some clay. The design is the symbol for Don Quixote Doflamingo and his pirate crew in the anime called One Piece. I started by covering the top with black clay and baked it. Then I pressed some yellow clay into that and cut out the design. I spray painted the bottom with whatever I could find. He loves it so I'm happy Smiley

3  Luffy and Goku!! in Polymer Clay: Completed Projects by marmalade_skies on: August 20, 2014 08:59:11 PM
Luffy (with the Straw Hat) is from the anime One Piece and Goku is from Dragon Ball. I love One Piece and I've been getting into Dragon Ball as well. The Goku I made a while ago for my bf and the Luffy I made recently for his friend that introduced us to One Piece.

4  My cross stitch phone case... in Needlework: Completed Projects by marmalade_skies on: February 25, 2014 01:16:28 PM
I'm not much of a needlework person. I wish I was but I don't have the patience. My boyfriend got me this case to cross stitch and I loved the idea. It's a small project and makes a really personal case. The only thing I don't like is that the cross stitching changes the shape of the case so it doesn't fit as well.

5  Tardis Hat in Crochet: Completed Projects by marmalade_skies on: December 14, 2013 08:33:48 AM
My nephews (4 and 9) love Dr. Who. So, for the younger one, I made this Tardis hat.

In this picture, I haven't sewn on the black strip, but I have since finished it. I used felt for the details and painted "Police Box" by hand with fabric paint.

6  Long Earflaps? in Knitting: Completed Projects by marmalade_skies on: November 22, 2013 07:41:42 PM
So one night I'm getting ready for bed and I get a text from a number I don't know that just says, "Amanda?" (That's me). Turns out to be the girlfriend of a guy I went to high school with. We were friends on Facebook but I haven't been on there in forever, and she wanted a hat. She sent me a picture of what she wanted and I just had to dive in without thinking too much. She picked it up last night and says she loves it. I wish I felt the same, but maybe I just looked at it too long.

Anyway, here it is:

7  Necronomicon in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General by marmalade_skies on: July 28, 2013 09:34:02 PM
I posted the cover of this a while back in the clay section. I wasn't going to go through with the binding because I wasn't happy with the cover. However, this wonderful community supported me and talked me into it. I found the tutorial for the binding on YouTube. Coptic stitch, I believe it's called. The binding went quickly and was quite enjoyable.

8  Necro-om-nom-nom-icon in Polymer Clay: Completed Projects by marmalade_skies on: June 27, 2013 06:19:43 PM
Well, I found a video on YouTube about how to bind books so I decided to try it out (still haven't gotten to the binding part). I wanted it to look like the Necronomicon, so i covered the front cover in polymer clay and carved out the face. Unfortunately, the clay shrunk in the oven, which in all honesty I should have foreseen, and the clay cracked right across the face in a couple of places. I fixed it up the best I could and painted it anyway. I like how it looks overall, but the ends of it curled up and I'm not sure I'll be able to complete the binding.

10  She Likes My Spark! in Amigurumi: Completed Projects by marmalade_skies on: January 04, 2013 11:14:33 AM
This is the Calcifer I crocheted. Funny story, I met a guy when I started college. We became pretty good friends. About a year later, his wife sent me a message on Facebook asking me to crochet a Heracross (Pokemon) for her to give to him as an anniversary present. I was more than happy to do that for her. Then, not much later, he messaged me and asked if I could make a Calcifer for her anniversary present. This situation was just too cute and perfect.

Anyway, it took me a couple of weeks and a lot of work and frustration. It's about 15 inches tall and 34.5 inches around, measured right under his eyes. My friend likes it and I hope his wife does too.
