Ahhh, if only I had seen this post earlier...I put in an order this morning for two cartridges at ohmycrafts. I am so worried now, I will be checking the mail every single day until they come. Thanks for the advice! I'll let you know how it goes.
That's so neat! I took a Forensic Psych course and it was so much fun.
I've just started my Uni scrapbook but I'm not s creative! I did more of a year theme, so there's two or three pages for every year I spent there, and then it's more friends than academic related. I'll have to post some pics once I really get going! I'm so glad to know someone else is doing the same theme as me though, because when I go to to the stores it seems like no one else has done this theme - it's hard to find stuff to buy!!
I just got a Cricut today for my birthday and so far, I love it!! I'm wondering if anyone knows a good place to get the cartridges for cheap. I live in Canada, and I don't think we have any stores that would rent the cartridges. I was looking at the site ohmycrafts.com, but I haven't had any experience with it yet.
I don't have much advice since I just got back into scrapbooking, but here are a few tips. You can get supplies for really cheap at Dollar stores and Wal-Mart. I prefer to get my supplies at Michael's, but it can be more expensive than other stores. However, if you sign up on their site for emails, they will also email you coupons. In the past month I have gotten two 50% off coupons and two 40% off coupons, which let me buy an entire baby boy scrapbook kit that was $50 for only $25, which is pretty good. I ended up saving $43 the last time I went which made me pretty happy!
I'm also wondering how useful these courses are. The store that sells Wilton here at Uni doesn't offer the courses but they are offered at home, so I'm thinking I might take them this summer/whenever they're offered next since I'm moving home soon
This weekend I made peanut butter cupcakes with peanut butter cream frosting and added a dollop of strawberry jam! I got the recipe for the cupcakes and frosting from Martha Stewart's website. They were good cupcakes, but tasted more like a pb sandwich than a true cupcake! Good with a glass of milk though, and my BFF who is a peanut butter lover LOVED them!
Over Christmas I decided to make the oreo truffles everyone has been raving about, but didn't post pics because they didn't look that great! I made them again last week and tried to do a nicer job this time, dipping them in semi-sweet chocolate and then piping a detail with milk chocolate.
