41  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Flapjacks in Felt on: June 11, 2009 11:51:07 AM
Was bored over the winter and made a bunch of felt food and ornaments.  But that got boring so I crafted my avatar.  I hung it over my craft table and smile whenever I look at it.  Just sharing Smiley

42  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / A good hat for football season... on: June 08, 2009 08:56:34 AM
This started as the random question...what do you get a high school grad who is headed to the chilly north for college?  We laughed at possible answers...a scarf!  No, mittens!  No, how about a big obnoxious hat?!?!

So here it is in all its glory...

School colors are green & gold.  The hat is big enough he could probably wear another cap underneath!
It is made mostly with fleece scraps but the green portions are felt.  Stuffed the spikes and away we go!

no worries though, he also got some good gift cards in the deal Smiley
43  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / My first attempt at a Jordy bag on: May 27, 2009 08:49:58 AM
I loved making this bag.  So simple to make!  And I finally got to create something with my new sewing machine!

I used a button closure because I am not quite ready to attempt a zipper.  Not yet anyway.

And here is a pic of the inside:

A slightly better representation of the actuall bag color.

thanks for looking!
44  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / What to do with old business cards??? on: April 06, 2009 11:47:36 AM
I have a ton of old business cards that I hate to toss.   Any ideas on a way to utilize them??
45  GLASS CRAFTS / Glass Crafts: Completed Projects / etched wine glasses on: December 31, 2008 05:22:48 PM
this is my first attempt at etching and I am almost embarrassed to post them but I think they turned out pretty well.  I think I am most happy with the fact that the "K" font was created myself while cutting since my drawn out templates were striking out!

46  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Kids scarves on: December 31, 2008 05:13:36 PM
This year I made scarves for my neighbor's kids for Christmas.
Not really sewing, not really knitted, not true embroidery...

For the pink scarf I had been wanting to use some yarn I had picked up on clearance and tried out a small butterfly loom I had to have but had yet to even try it!

The Thomas scarf is a simple fleece scarf.  I drew Thomas onto a piece of grey felt and then hand stitched him and the sewed him onto the fleece scarf.

I thought they turned out pretty good.
47  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / Help! Need some crafty wrapster ideas right away on: December 20, 2008 05:52:36 AM
My hubby is gifting his boss with a new mouse for his laptop but the box has gotten dammaged!  (Can you say slushy snowpile?)

So I took it out of the box and have a regular size cordless mouse, instuctional CD, and some batteries

If I had time I would run to the store and pick up a box you take home a hamster in...but alas that is not possible today.

Any ideas?

I have a ton of scrapbook paper, some fabric, etc.  I want it to look nice so I figured I would ask the craftster gang of course!
48  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Fleece Hats on: December 04, 2008 06:34:26 AM
This was my first attempt at a fleece hat.  I am so proud of how it turned out.  I saw a similar one in the ski shop last year but no way would I pay the $50 they wanted for it!  I hand stitched the entire thing and you gotta love fleece...you can barely see any of my stitches!

My daughter's taste is not so wild  Wink

The best part is that all of these were made from scraps!
