I was inspired here:
http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=401213.0

to make the following bracelets.

One for me:

One for a friend:

And one just for fun:

I don't think the photos do them justice but thats ok.  I had a lot of fun making them and it was a great way to use up some leftover bits and bobs and pieces of chain.  Thanks for looking!

23  Re: Jar of Whimsies Rd 10 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by NH822 on: November 29, 2011 10:33:55 AM
Received my awesome package just before the holiday.  Finally uncovered my camera and am ready to post pics!!
Cute little bits and bobs.  I LOVE the hummingbird in the top left corner.  Got to find the perfect place for him!

Photo board, witchy-poo, grover necklace, beads, earrings and a bat!  How about that!

Yummy soaps, bottles, Mickey Mouse, Gnomies, pebbles and glitter...and check out that box.  everything came in there.  I think I will move my Halloween whimsies into that special box (yeah I keep my halloween whimsies seperate from the rest  Roll Eyes )

Adorable little notecards and a monkey too!

Check out this awesome cross stitch pattern of Super Grover she made for me!!!

Loving these coasters.

My son stole the Oscar the Grouch pendant right away Smiley

But NO ONE is stealing this:

How awesome is that?  Thank you so much Helena!  You really hit on all of my favorite things!!!!!!

24  Roman Soldier in CHALLENGE 68 ENTRIES by NH822 on: November 01, 2011 09:08:02 AM
My son wanted to be gladiator/roman soldier this year.

We purchased the helmet...I had no patience this year to make one of those.

I used a faux suede material for the tunic and the cape.  Found gold eagle buttons on clearance as well as the curtain pull back we used for the belt.  The chain is actually a purse handle.  I made some "leather thongs" but he hated the way they felt so we just covered his slippers with the same material as his tunic Smiley

My son picks his costume based on what type of weapon he will get to carry.  He had the perfect sword but needed a shield too.
Shopped around for a shield but I wasn't about to pay $20 for a flimsy piece of plastic!   Bought a pizza pan for $4 and some rubber snakes.  Spray painted the snakes gold and then my husband riveted them to the pan.  I found a belt at the thrift store for the handles so husband used the rivet gun to attach them to the shield as well.  The rivets stuck through the back of the shield (possible scratching hazard) so I added some foam padding and red felt to cover the back of the shield.

Nice easy costume to make.  He loved it and received lots of compliments...espec ially from the older kids which made his day!

My spooky spot!

Finally posting some halloween goodness here!

Day one:

This awesome bag is straight from my wist.  I LOVE it!

Day two:

The pic doesn't do it justice but this plate is a shiny metallic red.  It got a crack in transit, but I can repair it easy-peasy.  It looks great with in my kitchen!

Day three:

So soft!!!  They fit my feet perfectly which is amazing because my feet are so ginormous!

Day four:

Yummy drink mix and reflective stickers for the kiddies.

Day five:

I am totally loving these coasters!!  This is one of my favorite halloween images!! I love that each is a different color!  We have a neighbor hood pumpkin carving party at our house so I am hoping to hold out on the drink mix until then!  Smiley

Day six:

my little bag of goodness!  I can't believe how many little punches are in this bag!  LOVE!
the kids received matching bags of goodies as well:

Had to include the action shot!  there may or may not be a few things getting stolen from their treat bags.

loving this swap so far!  Smiley

Day 7:

this pic doesn't show the awsesomeness!  A paper quilled autumn wall hanging!  I love it!!!  It will stay on my mantle until after Turkey day for sure!!!

this better shows the amazing detail!

Day 8:

There may be some goodies being made in the near future here  Wink

Day9:

EEEEKKKK!!!  I am in love!!!  I never would have imagined this but I can't wait to show it off!!!  I right away went a changed my clothes to better compliment the necklace (lol)...now I just have to get out of the house Smiley

27  Re: flat rate box June 2011 swap Gallery in The Swap Gallery by NH822 on: June 29, 2011 08:50:30 PM
I received today!  It was so much fun to open my package!

My pics won't do this package justice, but I love the little purple octopus she made me and a kit to make orgami stars.

The strawberry has catnip inside but I don't really want to share it with my kitties.  Lots of little whimsies which I LOVE!
A really neat ring too, it is a black flower/rose...not sure how she did it but it is perfect, I wore it all day!
There are also findings included so I can make my own rings.  Both my boys have requested I make them Green Lantern rings so I guess I know what my next project is!

Thank you so much elleinad!  I love everything and hope your package arrives soon!

28  Upcycled Ugly Shirt in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by NH822 on: June 12, 2011 07:26:36 PM
I have been making a few bags from old t-shirts lately and a friend of mine has been great about scoring me cheap thrift store shirts.  When she gave me this shirt printed with dashunds that had red eyes I thought she was kidding...it was a waffle weave type fabric and had dogs with red eyes!  But no she asked if I would make a bag for her MIL as a sort of gag gift.

I had the black straps laying around and decided these would work perfectly along with my last bit of red cotton in my stash.

I did a simple stitch around the top and I think it turned out great.

I do wish I had put a pocket inside.  It turned out a lot nicer than I had anticipated.
thanks for looking!
