Thought I posted last night but as I cannot find my post I must have made a goof somewhere!

Anyway, received a very thoughtful package from katebug48 yesterday.

LOVE it!  I dabble in manythings and always love to try something new so she sent me a variety of crafty bits to use!  Balls of yarn, cross stitch kit, some beads.  Also since the kids and I are having a pretend version of summer camp she even sent a few items for them to do!  Paints, wood shapes, beads and bits!

And finally since I love cherries and sparkly things she made me a t shirt with sparkly cherries on it!!!  Can't wait to wear it!!!  Also, when I win the lotto I plan to hire someone for daily mani/pedis and so until then she sent me a file & toe seperators!  Love it!

Thank you katebug for a fun swap!

113  Vintage fabric squares in What the heck can I do with THIS? by NH822 on: July 05, 2009 06:12:16 AM
I recently received a small bag full of vintage fabric scraps.

Most of them are 3x3 inches and there isn't really enough of them to make even a lap quilt.

Any suggestions?

114  Inherited quilt block in Quilting: Discussion and Questions by NH822 on: July 05, 2009 06:08:32 AM
I inherited a block that was in my grandmother's stash and cannot decide what to do with it.

Do I finish it up and frame it?  Or maybe frame it as is???  I know I am not nearly ready to do an entire quilt based on this one block.  My great grand kids would find it years from now unfinished!  lol!

Any tips?

115  garage sale lamp in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by NH822 on: July 05, 2009 06:00:04 AM
I finally found the perfect lamp at a garage sale for $1.  It had the plastic "Brass" finish and included a dusty cream/rose shade.

I then used the lamp to follow through on a threat I had made to my sister last Christmas when she gave me a gallon size bag of plastic knives as part of my gift.  We go for the gag gift/thrift store find each year and I had threatened that I would make her something out of that bag of knives.

I used all of the blue/green knives in the bag.  Now all that is left is pink/orange/red which will be used for a later project  to be determined Tongue

116  Re: I need your help restoring my camper! in Crafty Housewares: Discussion and Questions by NH822 on: July 05, 2009 05:52:03 AM
I saw this in the parade yesterday and thought of your project.

Thought this might inspire you to enter your camper in a small town parade once you are finished!!! Grin  Notice the truck pulling the camper and the 4 wheeler in the truck bed are all coordinated.   Roll Eyes

I am a non-smoker but I do have one cat & one dog in my home.

Pick Two:

This fabric is a nice warm brown color, not sure of the technical name for it but it is a bit stretchy.  About 2 yards.  Mostly synthetic I think.

White mug with cute little black spiders.  Was made during a one-stroke painting class.

Gold tone ribbon with a lacy look.

not exactly sure how much, took a pic of the label

Here is a better shot of the detail:

Snowman earrings

Pink/green/lavender beaded lanyard to hold sunglasses or reading glasses.

Assorted vintage wooden spools.  there are 7 of various sizes

15 plus assorted scrapbook paper 12x12 size

Iron On of black cat & word "spoiled"  comes with glitter, never opened

Two small paper punches

Not sure what this is called exactly but it was used to weave seats in old lawn chairs.

118  Need tips for storage in craft room! Please help! in Interior Decorating: Discussion and Questions by NH822 on: June 23, 2009 07:14:21 PM
So I have been blessed with a home office and a hubby that is willing to share it with me.  He is a neat & orderly type and I on the otherhand am the complete opposite (it is my creativity that causes this Wink )

So a constant issue for us is the state of my craft area which at times overflows into "his" space, and ok I admit it has gone all the way out the door a time or two.  Here is a pic of the disaster area.

I know it looks like someone had a craft explosion on it.  And this is after I tidied up a bit.  I think a big part of the problem is the lack of storage (along with a lack of $ to purchase said storage)
I am a dabbler so there is a lot of this & that lying around.

And where to store the fabric?

I have tried plastic bins and it is not working for me at all.  I like to bead, embroider, sew, scrapbook, and often I have a few projects going at the same time.  I also tend to hang on to items that I plan to upcycle later.

I can't be the only one with this issue...where do you guys put all this stuff??

119  Ribbitt...in the nursery in Baby Showers And Gifts For New Babies by NH822 on: June 19, 2009 08:52:49 PM
So I am really debating on whether or not this should go here.  Its a painting, but I wouldn't really consider it "art" more crafty than anything, but here goes.  If it needs moving please let me know.

My sister is having her 2nd child in 2 days!!!  She has EVERYTHING she could possibly need so I am helping her decorate the nursery.  The theme is....frogs.  So I painted this happy little guy...

I added 3-D wings to Mr Fly by stitching wings into a piece of vinyl, cutting them out and then sewing the wings to the canvas.  Hard to capture this in a pic.

I like his eyes the best.  I think I should work on the swamp around him a little more though.

thanks for looking!

120  Plastic Knives in Completed Projects by NH822 on: June 11, 2009 11:55:37 AM
Every year for Christmas my sister and I try to find the most obnoxious or hideous gift we can.  It has to be a garage sale or thrift shop find and cost under $10.

Last year part of the gift she gave me included a gallon size bag of plastic knives.  This year she will be receiving half of them (that's right I still have half a bag left!)

I think she should hang it in her kitchen! Grin

I told her I would make something for her with them.  Am considering a lamp shade for the rest.
