Whew!  Had to catch up with 7 pages of posts!  I am in awe of the amazing cards on here.

Today I received from Jennden

this pic doesnt do it justice but there is a fine glitter covering the card and I love how delicate the spider webs look!  Thanks for a great swap!

Received two amazing cards from LaChapa today!  What a great way to kick off Oct 1!!!
Fantastic detail on that owl, I am in awe of your skills!  But Mr Pumpkinhead cracks me up!!!  I love them both!!  My 5yr old has asked if he can have Mr Pumpkinhead.  I told him he has to make his own ATCs before he can ask for mine  Wink

15  Re: Embroidery Hoopla R8 - The Wordy Round Gallery in The Swap Gallery by NH822 on: October 01, 2012 02:42:17 PM
I have had so many issues trying to load photos from my camera to computer.  Today it suddenly dawned on me to scan it!!!  I feel like such a dummy.  I am so sorry that it has taken so long to get my hoop up but I have to say it is awesome!  The colors are perfect for my hoopla wall Smiley

Thank you spidermom for a great swap and for being such a patient partner Smiley

16  Embroidery Take-Along Case in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by NH822 on: August 10, 2012 04:39:49 PM
I was tired of lugging my threads around in an old shoe box, all tangled together and difficult to find when I needed.
So I first wrapped each color around a clothes pin.  Then I was inspired here: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=402261.0
And set out to find my own suitcase.
This is what I ended up with:

I am in love with it!!!
It started as a child's overnight case I picked up for $2 at the thrift store...

Score!!! I was so excited that day I think I giggled all the way to my car.
But sadly it was at least two months before I came back to it.

I finally decided to take the plunge and painted the entire thing a turquoise-y blue.
Then I took some scrap from my stash and created little pockets.
Then I hot-glued the pockets to the lid and the back of the case.
It has been really humid here and my paint was starting to stick to my tabletops when layed flat.
I found some cute felt butterflies to serve as "feet" and prevent the bottom from sticking to the table when the case is in use.

I couldn't resist the ruffled ribbon I found at Michael's and added an old tape measure of my grandmother's for good measure  Wink
And finally it needed an insert.  I still had more embroidery floss to put away!!!  Then it hit me one day to use a piece of cardboard packaging as an insert.  I covered it in white denim and added pockets to the interior along with a small pin cushion.  It closes with a glued on button and ribbon loop.  But the best part is I can remove the entire insert and store patterns and/or fabric underneath.  AND there is room for my smaller hoops to tag along as well.

I added some epoxy stickers for fun and I was done!
Thanks for looking!

17  Re: 4x6 Art Swap Round 3 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by NH822 on: June 24, 2012 05:25:13 PM
I received from Jenn90000 over the weekend.

I love it! I have to apologize for the crappy pic, my camera is out of commission so I had to use my scanner.   I think she used craft foam as a base.  Very neat little stitches!  She even included a pop-tab hanger.  Love it!  This will be a perfect addition to my crafting space.

Thanks again Jenn90000

18  Re: Felt Badge Swap Gallery!! (Send Out April 30) in The Swap Gallery by NH822 on: June 06, 2012 06:02:08 AM
So I have given up on the hope that my camera will magically begin working again  Tongue

I decided to give scanning a try.
Here is the awesome badge I received from audio.

My 5year old and I fight over it, so I have hidden it from him in my craft room.  Smiley
I love the tiny stitches and the little stars.
thank you for a fun swap!

20  Sweetums the Muppet Messenger bag in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by NH822 on: May 26, 2012 07:30:45 AM
I made this bag for my partner in the Jim Henson Swap.

Lots of techniques I have discovered on Craftster went into the details Smiley
The eyes are Teesha Moore style patches,
the strap is a result of weaving some fuzzy yarn.

(I was really pleased at how monstery it looks!)
The eyebrow was crocheted and then sewn on, the teeth are felt cones and the nose and lip are stuffed fleece.

And to top it all off, with the exception of the fuzzy yarn and the faux fur, the whole project was a stash buster! Grin
