1  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / plain thrifted t-shirt turned in to fun top on: March 31, 2010 10:31:48 PM
I made this top from a t-shirt I bought at a thrift shop.  I intended to turn it in to an easy tube top project, but later decided to have some fun with it.  I added some scrap tulle for the single strap and added a little random shirring in the bust area.

2  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Shirred tube top on: March 09, 2010 09:20:55 PM
I've been busy with work and getting back in to school so I haven't had the chance to do much sewing, painting or crafting.  This is my first completed project of the year.

I've seen some shirring tutorials on crafty blogs and an episode of Thread Banger.  It's hard to find elastic thread here, but I managed to get some and this is my first attempt.   Grin
3  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Cow print bunny! :P on: July 02, 2009 12:51:31 AM
Cheesy  I made this bunny out of some cow print fabric I got from my boyfriend's mom.  It's a gift for my 4 year old nephew.  It's almost as tall as him!!!   Tongue

I haven't given it to him yet.  I hope he likes it!!!
4  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Party Planning / Planning my 25th! Living Dead Doll themed party. on: May 03, 2009 05:42:26 PM
I couldn't think of a theme for my 25th birthday and a friend of mine suggested Living Dead Dolls.  My father brought one back for me when he was visiting my grandfather in Florida.  So that's how I got the theme.  Now I just need to figure out what to do to prepare.   Tongue

I know I'm going to dress as Arachne and my 2 best friends have chosen their characters.  I know I want a life sized LDD box for photo ops.  And I plan on checking the thrift stores for old beat up dolls to take apart for decorations.  I don't want to use good ones, that would be better off with little girls. I'm just not sure what else to do.  It's going to be at a small bar that we hang out at and always have our parties at so I can go nuts decorating and bring food.

If any one has suggestions they'd be greatly appreaciated!!!
5  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Tie-dye bubble skirt on: February 12, 2009 03:01:07 PM
When I started sewing my mom gave me some fabric and clothes to pick apart for notions and fabric.  One item she gave me was this tie-dye sarong like thing.  It's really loud and not something I'd wear, usually.  Last night I decided I'd try to make it work for me though.  I need practice any way right?  Si I cut it , pinned it, added elastic and sewed up in to a bubble skirt.  Not exactly how I saw it in my head, but not too bad for my first attempt.  And since it is short and paired with a plain black shirt it isn't too obnoxious.

What do you think?

I'm trying to use my sewing machine to make more than just purses and pillow cases.  Smiley

6  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / collapsible Jewelry display/organizer on: February 02, 2009 03:05:26 AM
I just finished making my collapsible jewelry display/organizer.  I drew everything out and my boyfriend cut it up for me.  I helped drill the holes for the earrings.  Then I spray spray painted it.  When collapsed it stores as just 2 flat pieces of cardboard.  Hope you like it.   Grin

7  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Bag from a shirt on: December 20, 2008 03:34:39 AM
I asked my boyfriend to put aside shirts that have shrunk or he just doesn't wear anymore.  I made this bag from one of those shirts.  It's going to be a present for one of my friends.  She's one of the few chicks I know who skates.  I hope she likes it!

Thanks for looking!

This one is going to come with a Hostess cook book I'm putting together.

This one has a matching recipe envelope with mostly vegetarian recipes.

I also made this no sew tutu for my boyfriend's little sister.

Don't worry I'm going to smooth out the tulle before I wrap it up.

Hope they all like their gifts.
