1  plain thrifted t-shirt turned in to fun top in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by nezumi_chan on: March 31, 2010 10:31:48 PM
I made this top from a t-shirt I bought at a thrift shop.  I intended to turn it in to an easy tube top project, but later decided to have some fun with it.  I added some scrap tulle for the single strap and added a little random shirring in the bust area.

2  Shirred tube top in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by nezumi_chan on: March 09, 2010 09:20:55 PM
I've been busy with work and getting back in to school so I haven't had the chance to do much sewing, painting or crafting.  This is my first completed project of the year.

I've seen some shirring tutorials on crafty blogs and an episode of Thread Banger.  It's hard to find elastic thread here, but I managed to get some and this is my first attempt.   Grin

Cheesy  I made this bunny out of some cow print fabric I got from my boyfriend's mom.  It's a gift for my 4 year old nephew.  It's almost as tall as him!!!   Tongue

I haven't given it to him yet.  I hope he likes it!!!

I finally made it to the post office to pick up my package.  Thank you soooo much sailorgirlbonk.  I absolutely love everything!!!  Check out my goodies!!!

I love the mirror so much.  It's so beautiful.  And look at the wonderful knitted wrist and neck warmers she made me.  They're amazing!  I've already hung up one of the cards and as you can see I've already put some of my beautiful goodies to use in my room.  Tongue

This was an awesome swap!!  Thanks to everyone especially my awesome partner and also our lovely organizer.

8  Re: ANOTHER Pin Cushion Swap Round 11 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by nezumi_chan on: April 22, 2009 05:20:38 AM
I finally managed to get a picture!  My camera has been dead for days.

My partner completely spoiled me.  The cup and saucer reminded her of my blog.  And it is so fitting!!!   She did a awesome job.  I can't believe she's a first time sewer.

I'll let her post pics of the pincushion I sent her, but if you're really curious you can view it on my blog, http://waitingforwonderland.blogspot.com!

Thanks again, dancingqueen73!

10  Tie-dye bubble skirt in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by nezumi_chan on: February 12, 2009 03:01:07 PM
When I started sewing my mom gave me some fabric and clothes to pick apart for notions and fabric.  One item she gave me was this tie-dye sarong like thing.  It's really loud and not something I'd wear, usually.  Last night I decided I'd try to make it work for me though.  I need practice any way right?  Si I cut it , pinned it, added elastic and sewed up in to a bubble skirt.  Not exactly how I saw it in my head, but not too bad for my first attempt.  And since it is short and paired with a plain black shirt it isn't too obnoxious.

What do you think?

I'm trying to use my sewing machine to make more than just purses and pillow cases.  Smiley
