myself and some friends are having a party to celebrate the upcoming sex and the city movie and i need to make the best carrie bradshaw outfit lol,
i need something a bit mad, but really pretty.
i was thinking big poofy skirt to start with...
im dead excited to start making it! any die hard SATC fans out there with any cool ideas?

ive been wanting to join one but there arent any! apart from a stitch and bitch but im interested in a more general wider crafty arty group...

Im thinking people interested in fashion, dressmaking, sewing, knitting, jewellery making, etc

I make slippers, i sew, do a bit of knitting, bookbinding beginner, felt making, jewellery making, i like a bit of everything!

ideas- meet with other local people who create and sell handcrafted, products, arts, and/or crafts. Share tips of turning fun into profit! ?

Visit exhibitions and galleries of interest, chat about ideas/art/fashion, work on crafts, meetups

other people with a crafty businesses

exchange new techniques, ideas with other people who are interested in crafts and art.

generally have FUN!!!

maybe organise craftshows?

edit-ive been looking about on thinternet and craft mafia looks great, we could start a liverpool/merseyside craft mafia...indie designers wanted!

ive been meaning to make ballet flats for aaages
i studied footwear design last year and as i am poor and not able to afford all the bits and bobs ( a singer shoemaking machine oh how i luv thee!) to make my own shoes i wanted to give flats/slippers a try.
and after seeing iheartthomys tutorial ages ago i decided id finally get round to it...instead of just daydreaming about it
so this week i finally finished my mock ups/pattern that worked...took 3 attempts!
and made these --->  Wink










please excuse my spazzy feet.

im gonna make more now -its actually easy peasy once u get a pattern that works
theyre quite similar to the tutorial on here apart from i used a lining too, and elasticated the counter back piece.
oh and i put extra support inside by gluing some thick pleather and felt covered foam (insole) inside.
I'm making a spotty pair now, will post when finished.
i love shoes.

UPDATES-
i changed these slightly to add some pizzazz (cool word) and made a new pair (the spots)
onto my third now which are red, white and spotty,
i will try to get a tut up for the pattern asap, ill take pix while im making my third ones!

just finished a footwear design course and looking for a job so in the meantime...im decorating shoes and tryng to sell them on ebay etc

anyone know anywhere in north west preferably lpool, chester, wirral areas to get cheap pumps (without laces), shoes etc for decorating.
ive seen some nice stuff for 7/8pounds but i was looking specifically for the pumps to be like 4/5-like the ones we all wore for PE in junior school.
any help much appreciated

can anyone help me please? ive looked around a bit about making soap and id like to try myself...
ive noticed the easy melt and pour version-but does anyone know where i can buy gycerine in the uk?
ive seen u can use normal soap like dove but that would be pretty expensive.
any help much appreciated, and any advice

or original painting-u know how silver wedding anniversary is silver...well 26 is original picture/painting/photo.
does anyone have any groovy ideas? that arent just putting a picture of them on their wedding day in a frame, or painting/creating a wonderful masterpiece?
maybe incorporating an original picture or painting into something other than a handmade card...
or a photo album...
or coasters lol
any ideas would be wonderful
