1  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Discussion and Questions / Ideas for covering the top part of my walls? on: May 24, 2010 10:47:08 AM
So I recently moved into a new apartment that is in an old Victorian building. The living room is painted really wild colors, but I love them and want to keep them. The problem is that the ceilings are really high, and the person who painted the walls didn't manage to get the top straight (it's missing about an inch on the top of paint, and it's not really straight).

Here's a pic of the top of the walls.

I would like to keep the colors but I don't want to have to repaint in order to even out the top, so I thought maybe I could cover it with something. My mother suggested a wallpaper border, but I tend to think those are a little tacky. Any ideas?

2  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / Retirement/thank you gift for minister on: May 20, 2010 06:57:07 AM
My pastor is retiring at the end of June, and I want to make something really meaningful to say thank you. She has been like a mom/mentor to me, and we are really close. She is kinda hippyish, in her mid 60's, into environment and (obviously) Christianity, social justice stuff, gardening. My original plan was to make a cross stitch of the church, but I am running too short on time now.

Any ideas?
3  KNITTING / Projects from the Stitch 'N B**ch Books by Debbie Stoller / Ribbed-for-her-pleasure scarf on: December 31, 2008 07:18:06 AM
Okay, so this is only my 2nd project (after Go-go garter), so it's kind of crappy.

I haven't woven in the ends yet.
