Thanks for the comments.

Lickin' Flames:  I wonder if you could make empanadas or other types of hand pies by using one of those cheesy sandwich sealer irons.  Do you know the kind I mean?  They used to have infomercials for them, and I know my husband used his a lot in college in the dorm.

np.  I'll have to post photos in the wedding section of our wedding cupcakes!  They turned out great!  you can also see pics here:  http://www.examiner.com/budget-meals-in-st-louis/desserts-cupcake-frostings

and the vegan cupcakes my  mom makes come from a mix (apparently betty crocker or dunkin hines has a gluten free mix).  Mom then uses egg replacer, yeast, and club soda to make the cupcakes light and fluffy.

Since I was running in a Halloween race, I wanted a costume that would be fun to run in.  After brainstorming a bit, I thought about making a horse and jockey costume.  Only problem--horses have 4 legs, and I have two.  So what has two legs and runs?  An ostrich!

This is made out of polar fleece, batting, two wire hangers, and 6 feather boas.  The pants were a Goodwill find, and the tights came from Target.  The hat is my hubby's old mowing hat.  It was kind of a last minute costume (my hubby and I were going to go as a matador and a bull, but he had to go out of town).  But it was a lot of fun to make!  Some trial and error, but still fun!

I had a lot of fun wearing this and running in it!  All along the course, kids would yell, "Look Mom, she's riding an ostrich!"  Seeing them excited made my day!

Haha!  Good eye!  would you believe that my husband and I were both editors/copy editors!  And I'm a freelance writer!  We should have caught that!   Cheesy  oh well!

We changed the invites to make them look more homemade and scrapbooky.  And we decided against the flower girl basket.  The flower girl is in a princess phase (she's 4), so we're making her a magic wand with flowers and ribbon on a piece of dowel rod painted silver.  So far, it's adorable.  I'll post pics of the new invites and the wands when I have a chance.  But with 6 weeks left, I don't have much time to post!

I love the dress!  The pinker flowers would go with my wedding!  If only I would have seen it sooner!
