Ok, I'm finally done.  Decided against doing fringe.  It makes me nervous.

Here is a front view:

Here's a couple of more (thumbnails)

One of these years I do plan to finish this, but here is the result after 3 skeins

I think after this 4th skein I'll be done.

Wow, this shawl is looking really good, all 21 inches.  It's taking a long time, but then there are other projects to work on.

Here is what it's like after two skeins of Dark Blue Bernat Satin.

You guys make me scared to try it!

Don't be scared.  It isn't that difficult.  A little annoying with all the changes.  Smiley

Oh and the way the pattern seemed to make the square pull down the middle of each side.   There weren't any stitches to even out the sides.

I did a little change on the pattern.   On Round 8, I do:

Join CB to any 2nd sc of the corner, (ch3, dc, ch3, 2dc) [*7dc, 8tr, 7dc, * (ch3, dc, ch3, 2dc) in corner sc] 3 ties and * to * once more, join to 3rd ch of beg c3.

Then on Round 9, I did the original round 8 as written.

It seemed to even things out better.

Here's my month's filler - "Cat Tracks".  I found it on Ravelry.

Here's my contribution:

Wound up making the pocket too wide.

I think I'll make my next without lining it, use french seams all around.  That should be good for packing lighter items.  And it will be faster.

Then do lined bag for heavier objects, like soda.

19  Re: 2008 12" Squares ~ FEB in Crochetalongs by yellowduckie on: February 20, 2008 08:10:39 PM
I've been so busy this month, I wasn't sure if I'd have time to finish, let alone see new posts here.

And the gorgeous squares that have been made since the last time I looked just take my breath away.

Anyways, here are my Feb squares.

Cross My Heart:

This square has been the hardest one I've ever done.  I suspect I'd never have made this if not for the crochet-along.

Cable Hearts (Filler)

I liked this one much better, although I had to do both 10A and 10B  to get it to 12".

I've done one feb block:

It's a bit less than 11", so I think I'll use it on another project.

Now that I've done the first I have a better idea of how I'd like to do the colors for this project.  So I've started a second one

It's a little curled at the edges.  But that'll disappear as I continue.

Love this heart block for the month of luv!

jennbrand, I think the fun fur is great.
